It was a calm sunny day on the reef. As lunch rolled around Remi dropped by the cafe Nik worked at. He set down some sandwiches and coffee at a table and chose to sit with his back to the door so he could give Remi his attention.
N: How's your day been?
R: It's going well.
N:That's always nice to hear. It's been pretty average of a day here.

As a customer left another entered, with a Shirish accent she tried to ask him a question.
???: Excuse me, can ya tell where I can fin... Nik?
It came out more of a whisper but cut through the cafe, and almost caused the drake's heart to stop.
As his head slowly turned he was suddenly back on that train station platform nine years ago, so far away. The brisk night feeling distant as his mother hugged him one last time before turning him to the train about to depart.
Nik was wide eyed and with a shaky voice asked. "M-ma?"
???: Nikopol!
N: "Ma!" He lunged across the cafe to grab her in a tight embrace. A few tears spilled from the feline as she finally got to hold her son once again.
J: Oh my sweet blueberry, look at ya. You've grown so much.
N: Y-yeah, heh, I did.

Nik walked back with her and introduces them. "Ma, this is my marefriend. Remi this is my Ma." She reached out a hand. "Nice ta meet ya face ta face deary."
Remi happily shook her hand. "It's so nice to finally meet you."
