Description
I can’t think of any amazing way to start this off, so I am just going to say that if there is one studio that has stayed up at the top along with DisneyCo and Pixar and even beat them at times, it is differently DreamWorks Animation SKG.The company originated when Movie King ‘’Stephen Spielberg’’, former DisneyAnimation executive ‘’Jeffery Katzenberg’’, and music record maker ‘’David Geffen’’ decided to form a brand new Hollywood Studio in 1994. (hence the S,K, and G)
While the live action company has made Oscar winners and nominees like ‘’Saving Private Ryan’’ and ''Gladiator'', the animation studio well, made animated films and have become more popular than the live action studio- whom they spun off away from in 2004.
The company took in animato s from Spielberg’s Amblin while they acquired computer graphics company Pacific Data Images (PDI)- releasing films starting in 1998 with the bug comedy ‘’Antz’’ and the Bible drama‘’The Prince of Egypt’’.
While Aardman kind of was destined to become More successful than their 2D films (since ‘’Chicken Run’’ did way better than ‘’The Road to El Dorado’’), ‘’Shrek’’ became their most successful feature with a LOT of box-office money and won the First Ever Academy Award for Best Animated Film!
Because of that, and that their traditional hand drawn animated films were less successful-flopping, Katzenberg declared that 2D was ’’Dead’’ (which ‘’The Simpsons Movie’’ and ‘’The ‘’Princess and the Frog’’ reply ‘’No way Pinocchio’’)
Than their not-much golden age fell when they kept releasing pop-culture comedies that featured toilet-humor- giving them a bad reputation and even making Blue Sky look good.
But everyone (well, except the haters and those who don’t give DW a chance) was supprised in 2008 when ‘’Kung Fu Panda’’ featured no pop-culture jokes, slap-stick comedy, or even crude potty humor- which was followed by ‘’How To Train Your Dragon’’ (non-comedy adventure) and ‘’Rise of the Guardians’’ (amazing adventure masterpiece family film). Oh, and I fogot to mention that because of production antagonizing, Aardman split away and made a new film deal with Sony. And I won’t mention the 2009 and 2011 Annies.
For me, I have known them since childhood, mostly for their 2D features and Chicken Run, along with the trailers they had on the videos. I started watching their CGI films starting with ‘’Shark Tale’’ (during the Free Movies in 2005). I dislike that they just kept making comedies and that there were adult jokes in the films (since Jeffery wanted to bring out the ‘’Adult in every Child’’), but I enjoy their films and am glad that they are getting better and more amazing.
Here is a list of their films as of 2012 (I won’t share my option to save time and that you might not really care). I will also mention the films made by Aardman Animations (which the Red Star represents). And the direct-to-video Joseph film (which isn’t really counted by people)
Antz (1998)

The Road to El Dorado (2000)

Same they stopped making Hand-drawn films. However, ''Me and My Shadow'' (half CGI) is probably going to revive 2D DWA films.

After the ''Croods'' are ''Turbo'' in summer, about a snail who is mutated and becomes really fast and races in Nascar. And ''Mr. Peabody and Sherman'' based off the short segments in the ''Rocky and Bullwinkle'' show.
