An animated stamp reflecting my feelings about the Sonic cast. I'm sick of people whining about how there are too many characters. You see a lot of other series get away with handfuls of characters, so what's the big deal with Sonic?All the sprites are from Sonic Battle.

I don't complain about there being too many characters. In fact, my fan series uses a lot of my friends' characters as well as the official ones.
(The official characters haven't all appeared yet, but I will be using most of them except for a few like Chris Thorndyke and Saffron Bee.)

I've planned how and when to introduce each character, both official and original.
The unpopular ones (e.g. Big the cat) will be among the last to be introduced.

Touhou is also a good example of a series with lots of characters (mostly female though) and I don't see fans complaining about it (Then again, it's a dojinshi gaming series created by zun after all so I don't believe there would be alot of fantards since it's not all widely known ike sonic the hedgehog is.)

Thanks man. I never thought I'd actually see a stamp like this. And it's true too. The Sonic Character cast is anything but too big. In fact, there's been quite a few characters that were around for only one or two games, nothing else after that. It sickens me every single time I see a hater of any character in Sonic's entire gaming storyline that says they want the character to die (a factor I've seen often being pointed at Amy, Shadow and Silver the most). It's practically like they don't even acknowledge the characters' fans at all. Besides, if Sonic Team did try removing any of those major characters now, they'd be paying for it in the form of very furious fans

Yays! I've finally found it! A Sonic stamp that tells people to stop complaining about the size of the cast! You don't know how happy I feel to finally find this in all of the other Sonic stuff on Deviantart! :boggie: I get tired of all the comments about how "THERE"Z TOO MANNIE SAWNICK CHARACTORZ!!!!!111!1one! WAHH!" when in reality, Mario's games makes about at least 3-1 more, each one as lackluster as the others!

sonic, tails, shadow, amy, blaze, cream, rouge, knuckles, vector, espio, charmy, eggman, silver, mecha sonic, elise, commander tower, maria, gun... and that's only if your talking about the games! The comic has :
sally, antoine, bunnie, rotor, larry lynx, scourge, fiona, snively, iron queen, mina mongoose... too long to name them all. there's at least 100+

The hate thrown at Sonic's supporting cast is one of the things I hate when people criticize Sonic. They are fine. Fuck anyone who says that they should die, Sonic's supporting cast is awesome.
Mario has even more useless characters like Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser Jr, and yet no one is calling out for their deaths because anything with Mario's face slapped on it is perfect in every way.

If the cast didn't expand, I wouldn't have any favorite Sonic characters and would stopped caring about the main ones. I think more characters is a good thing otherwise it would get repetitive and boring.

I've done a test comparing the number of characters with more than one appearance in Sonic to the ones in Mario under the same credentials and the latter had the bigger cast... so why aren't they crying about the Mario series having too many characters? =/

More time and effort probably went into Big than into Shadow, actually. Shadow's the average emo character Gary-stu staple. Big's a very rare kind of character to come across.

I like shadow the hedgehog but I do also find interest in big the cat as well. In fact, every soinc character has a special place in my book (even *gasp* Chris.) I'm perfectly ok if you don't like shadow.

Because his fans are all girls between the ages of 13-17 or at least have the necessary brain damage to meet the equivelent of one.
Shadow was too boring for my tastes, I mean, the dark edgy Gary Stu has been done to death. Sonic's a happy game series. Shadow's really the kind of person that belongs in Resident Evil as one of the minor characters that dies no matter what you do.

The unpleasable fanboys take up 40% of the fandom. The retarded fangirls that date other characters take up 23% of the fandom and the sane fans take up 2%. In other words, I'd have better chances in any other fandom except the My Little Douchebags fandom.

Yes their like those stupid Gen I fans that nag about having more Pokemon is "Stupid" When in fact having new Pokemon is a GOOD thing. (Besides their were Pokemon based off objects in Gen I like Lickingtoung and Voltorb and Geodude.)
