The hexagon is the property of creation. Water lives in the aether, the aether is vis-à-vis the earth, lightning reaches the earth, lightning makes fire, fire brings CO² and O² makes up water.

The Star of David represents destruction. The water quenches the fire, the fire melts the earth, the earth separates the waters. And the aether absorbs the wind, the wind weakens the lightning, the lightning destroys the aether.

And the lines joining the elements in the middle show the opposition. Water≠lightning, aether≠fire and earth≠wind.
