I've mentioned it before but I love wrapping objects in clay.

This piece started with a couple of wooden swallows on a door of a house in a street the tram I was sitting in drove through. I saw those shapes and was reminded of swallows that hunt for insects when the sun is setting (before the bats take over). And once I had that image in my had I just had to try and create it in clay. Which was trickier than I thought. Not only did I have to blend the right colours, in such a way I got the the right kind of streaks, but I also had to do it in parts as my pasta machine simply isn't as wide as the bottle is tall. And then blending those parts seamlessly. It was a challenge all right but I feel I've pulled it off
