god i hate this bitch. profanity hates her too, dontcha pro?PRO: @#$%&?! ISHBALLAHLAHLAHLAHLAH *charges w/ scimitar at the martel face*
right.
but i had to draw her for my next "major compilation" (side project i got carried away with). that file is too big to work directly on top of anymore so i opened a separate image for martel's layer (which happens to be the foreground, so i couldn't spare any expense if ya get me).
i don't like to draw fugly stuff, so i made her as beautiful as i could afford, what with having to call in a million makeover ladies from jc penny and george lucas and pixar and harry potter and every ounce of effort it took to undo the years of bad fashion and poor skin care miss martel has endured. the background is kind of... plain... but like i said. i went broke un-dykifying her. couldn't even afford makeup. or anatomy art books to fix the million bajillion problems with this. it's gunna be mostly blacked out though.

i might scrap this... it's really dinky and only took one night to do. it's also pretty light for my usual stuff. and it got kind of blurry when i downsized it. EDIT btw i unscrapped it. cuz it's gud-drawn and stuff.

yeah... oddly enough i smelled a snake once. it was a mini ringneck that was twining through my fingers, i had caught it on the sidewalk walking my dog and after it stopped gnawing uselessly on my pinky and was just chillin, i smelled it.

I hate you for being able to draw humans so well, omg. Her face is absolutely gorgeous. The expression is so determined and the anatomy and face proportions come close to flawless. In my eyes, anyway.

I like her. She wasn't well thought out sadly. Greed had less screen time than she did and he was well thought out and had a full story.

...she was the same. just without the later appearance that she had in the series, the two were kinda... fused together.
the manga doesn't reintroduce them (posthumously) much later to show them as soldiers in ishbal, and by then, i'd stopped caring. they'd been dead for like eight issues.

sorry to pop in late and all, but why should Hohenheim be in hell? He's a bit disinteresting, yeah, but he was a good father for as long as he thought he could manage it with Ed and Al. I do conceed that he pretty much just up and abandoned Dante and his sont-turned-Homunculus, and that was kind of a jerky thing to do, but he was a good man and a good father and a loving husband.

i just didn't like hohenheim. i thught he was a weak character. it wasn't so much a personal thing as in a... 'he wasn't very well thought out' sorta thing.
his habits with his 'families' are pretty dickheaded though. i mean, it's different ocne you understand his condition. kind of like being a superhero... you've got secrets to keep, and sometimes people get hurt.

And I have to agree with you on anime-Hohenheim having a weak character. A lot of the people in the anime kinda got screwed out of most of their development, and his was one of the worst in my opinion. I haven't seen much past volume 4 of the mange, but if his character is half as developed as others, he's a bit more important than wandering in, hanging around a little, then getting zapped by his ex.
And agreed that he isn't really great with the whole "being a dad" thing. I guess I'm just a sucker for the sweet little romance between him and Trisha and I always just kinda thought he was being a bit more kind to the kids by leaving before they saw what was happening to him. ^__^;;
But he was still admittedly kind of a dick to Dante. I mean, romance a girl, knock her up, have the kid, bring the kid back to life, skip town? Not precisely a model citizen's day's work. XD

yeah... he was a good man while he could hold it up with trisha and the boys. it's not like it was easy to leave them.
and in the manga (i'm in ch 66 i dunno what volume that is) he's kind of the same. but i can tell ya not much else is done with the character-- even less than in the anime. but there's some kind of "mystery" at least, waiting to be solved concerning him and 'father.' so that's cool

I just let him get saved by my fan character. It's way easier. But he gets into a fight with Lust and Gluttony and almost gets his ass handed to him.

sounds exciting o_o and easier, yes... but no horror-punk graveyard scenes. i'm sure pro would find some red stones and... fix him...
lust and gluttony are so awkward looking together... but they're so fuckin dangerous. i kinda wished in the series that they fought greed instead of or before ed... gluttony could've hockey-checked him right through a wall with that gut of his in the way, and in the next room he would've plowed ed over and then they fought, and lust got naked for no reason. but i wasn't hired to write for the series, so whaddo i know.
and kudos to you for being able to like the bish-heroine even when you have your own fan character o_o i wasn't adult enough to not hate martel as soon as i saw her.

I don't like dissing the girls that hang with the characters I like. It's the same as making Hughes leave his wife and never see her again. He loves her and nothing can ever change that. And my fan character veiws Greed as well, lets just say he looks a great deal like her father figure.

heh i wouldn't wanna separate a guy like hughes from a lady like gracia though, even if i dug him as a character, i'd identify more with a sweet family gal like her than HOPE SHE DIES OMFG SLUT. gotta be a certain kind of character, y'know? like in junior high i hated lt. noinrfom G-wing... i guess i have something against manly anime chicks bishie-blocking me. oddly enough my characters are usually pretty ambiguous themselves, even if they doll up nicely
and that's cool about the father figure deal... an interesting take on their association.

martel is technically a monster too. they're kin, they're crew, they stick together. THAT much i couldn't hold against her. everyone needs a street fam.
winry doesn't bother me, i think she's cool. i'm not in love with ed or anything, they're both just awesome characters. winry's emotions are annoying sometimes though. she whines a lot (in both language formats!)
and i think i will check it out sometime.
