Description
Say hello to the original Quiarota stallion! He was first featured on the top of the breed's reference sheet, and has been captured as an original character. This is Quituo, and he greets you with love!
Here's his info:
Name Quituo
Sex Male
Age 5 years
Breed Quiarota
Color Liver Amber Champagne [E e/A a/cr Prl/ CH CH / STY sty / O o]
Marking Overo ; Inverted Motley Niche Symbol
Status Captive ; Unpaired
Brief Story Quituo was a single-born foal in a Quiarota herd living in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. He was captured as a weanling and has adjusted well to life in captivity. Nothing is known about his history as a foal, and little is known about the wild herd he came from. We do know, however, that the herd was generally tolerant of human observers – despite an isolated location in a valley within the Southern Alps range. The horses are thought to have arrived on New Zealand’s islands via human interference, as there are at least two documented cases of captive Quiarota escaping from their human owners after they were brought over from Europe.
This stallion has the independent but thoughtful personality of an excellent leader. He exhibits Quiarota breed standards exceptionally, and is considered a foundational stallion for the breed’s captive breeding network.
Quituo does not yet have a permanent mate, although he is expected to find one once he is exposed to more Quiarota mares.
In the meantime, Quituo is an excellent companion horse to his human caretakers, though they try to leave him and his equine companions to themselves so that they can form as natural a herd dynamic as possible. He is protective, compassionate, and eager to please. Currently, he resides with two female companions. They are Paean , our purebred mare, and Fayette , our partial-bred mare. He will soon find other companions, once more Quiarota are brought to his home. It is expected that, in that time, he will find a mate and assume leadership of the herd.
Quituo’s rare marking (the inverted, singularly-appearing, motley niche symbol) certainly reflects his character. As with most horses of this sort, he has all the potential to be a strong, capable leader with assertive tendencies, in addition to the attentive and thoughtful qualities that make a lovable ‘chief.’
BREEDING INFO
Although Quiarota are monogamous creatures, they can be artificially bred outside of their partnerships. This process is increasingly more difficult between paired horses, but is relatively simple between unpaired individuals. If you are interested in Quituo as a sire, please send me a note and I will discuss the possibility and work out the details with you.
QUIAROTA INFO
This is an original breed of my creation. If you are interested in acquiring a Quiarota of your own, please note me with your request. I am willing to create a design for you (which, depending on demand and time commitment, may be associated with a small price of a few points), and I am also willing to approve an original design of your creation. We can discuss specifics on a case-by-case basis.
Thanks for looking! I'll be updating his story and status if/when necessary in the future.
[Please don't steal. This is an original character within an original breed. I will be happy to accomodate/work with you in creating your own - so please don't take advantage of my hard work! This lineart is mine, and is also not free. (Image updated 12/2/11)]
