Chapter Twenty Two: Good Bye…

“No you can’t do that!” Tadashi protested.
“It’s the only thing that we can do.” Ace snapped back.
“There some other way but I can’t let you go.” Tadashi tried to stop him.
Ace got ready to charge. Proto leapt up and punched him hard in the jaw. Ace fell to the ground. His eyes wide opened. Proto kneeled over and hugged him placing his head on his forehead.
Proto quickly turned around and went to the kids. He gave a small sympathetic smile and hugged them. He couldn’t cry right then not in front of the kids. He would miss them all. Even his sister he had just met. He looked up as Tadashi checked on Ace. He gave a small smile to his father.
“Proto no.” Kayato called.
“Please don’t go.” Shiria teared up.
“Please stop.” Yuki added in. He shook his head and charged at the light. He leapt up onto the console and got ready to break the glass that separated him from the light. It hurt for a second as shards stabbed him. But he looked behind him with a smile as he saw all his loved ones fade away as he faded into the light…
“Proto… You idiot.” Ace started to tear up. The kids rushed over to the two adults and cried. They looked up as they heard cries from the viruses. Painful sounds as if they were being attacked. They looked up. They saw a figure covered in white that was blinding slice one in half with ease. Many figures with the same shape.
“Is that him?” Shiria asked.
“It can’t be.” Tadashi watched. They watched as one from a staircase above turn to face them. He reached for his neck and took something off. He threw it at them. And waved. Before he ran off. The bright light that headed for them landed a few feet from Yuki. She picked it up.
“What is it?” She asked. She held out a white choker with a golden bell on it. It had two golden chains loop to the bell’s ring in the center of the choker.
“It’s a choker.” Kayato looked at it.
“But Proto has a black one.” Shiria said.
“Maybe it changed going through the light.” Ace looked up at another white figure above he swore it waved at him for a second time, “Oy Proto!” Ace yelled up.
One figure after another turned around and gave a slight nod. Then ran off. They disappeared into little lights.
“What’s happening to them?” Kayato asked.
“They’re done with their job they killed off all the viruses.” Tadashi sighed. The lights seemed to head towards them in a snowflake manner. Shiria held out her hands as two or three circled her. One took shape of a lily and fell perfectly into Yuki’s hair. A few circled Kayato.
“Wow.” He said. He reached out for one as it turned into a butterfly and flew to Ace and landed on his nose.
“Looks like he’s saying his goodbyes.” Ace sighed. One landed onto Tadashi’s shoulder as a small bird. He patted it gently on the head. Then all the lights started to come together and fade. As it faded it made the shape of Proto. His face distinct and well defined. He smiled at them and waved. You could tell he was crying with his smile. He faded out to nothing leaving all of them all alone. They knew he was gone for good then. But he was better off.
“Bye Ryouya.” Ace waved at the air.
“Yeah goodbye Ryouya.” Shiria started to tear up again.
“We’ll miss you.” Kayato tried not to tear up but fail.
Yuki looked up at the ceiling, “Bye big brother.”
Tadashi was silent he held the choker he had left behind. He made a quiet prayer for his son. And wished him goodbye…
