I wonder how many of you caught on to this in the original ref, but yeah, Gatekeeper is nonbinary - agender to be specific.

I feel like an interesting character flaw for Gatekeeper should be how like, they'd feel annoyed at other dragons complaining about their own sad past experiences - because those dragons could just like, forget about it and move on - while Gatekeeper can't erase their own memories. In fact, Gatekeeper can never stop doing things that sadden them, because it's their job!
