"I remember tears streaming down your face, when you said I'll never let you go... When all those shadows almost killed your light..."

Quiet whimpers ring throughout the seemingly empty, snow coated area. Just beyond a small patch of trees, a woman wrapped in bloodied rags lies on her knees, sobbing into the still frame of a young child.

"I remember... You said, Don't leave me here alone... But all that's said and done and past, tonight..."

The child, more than likely belonging to her, is covered in fatal injuries- fatal burns. His eyes are wide open, but dry and without life. His body is covered in blood, long since dried from exposure to the crisp, winter air.

"Just close your eyes... The sun is going down... You'll be alright- no one can hurt you know... Come morning light... You and I'll be safe and... Sound..."

Still sobbing, the woman shakily rises to her legs- legs also sporting serious burns. Her charred skin cracks upon her movements, and she begins to bleed heavily. The warm, crimson fluid runs down her bare legs, and soaks into the pure white snow beneath her frame. Every step she takes as she walks, leaves behind a deep, red hole as she ventures further into the snow-ridden area.

"Don't you dare look out your window... Darling, everything's on fire... The war outside our door keeps raging on..."

She stumbles as she moves, her wounded body struggling to stay active as she forces herself through the heavy snow. Her burned legs continue to crack and bleed as she walks, and more blood soaks into the crimson stained clothing she wears to reveal evidence of injuries hidden beneath them. Tears continue to stream down her puffy, cracking cheeks as she moves- the harsh winter air makes her skin more frail than it aught to be as she moves.

"Hold on... To this... Lullaby... Even when music's... Gone... Gone..."

Suddenly, she starts to move faster- she breaks out into a desperate sprint. In the distance, she has spotted the outline of a town- she sees people working at removing large amounts of snow from the road so that cars may drive through. However, she has quite a distance to run, and she is sprinting uphill. With every step she takes, her body threatens to collapse and give way to the seriousness of her injuries.

"Just close your eyes... The sun is going down... You'll be alright- no one can hurt you know... Come morning light... You and I'll be safe and... Sound..."

Harder and harder it becomes for her to move. Snow, somewhat melted by her blood, cakes around her bare and frostbitten feet as she runs. Eventually, the weight of the added snow prevents her from sprinting- her movements become an immense struggle. She slowly lifts each leg, which has grown so heavy that it slams into the ground upon being lowered. Sweat forms on the surface of her shivering skin, and she pants so hard the air burns her already stinging lungs- but she continues onward towards the town.

"Oooh oooh, oooh oooh... Oooh oooh, oooh oooh... La la, la la... La la, la la... Oooh oooh, oooh oooh... Oooh oooh, oooh oooh... La la.. La la..."

Step by step she struggles up the hill, her body struggling to keep moving as she approaches the town. She reaches the top of the hill, then she continues to force her way forward. Slower and slower her body allows her to move- she struggles to keep hold on the dead child she clings to so desperately as she walks. Finally, she reaches the border of the town. She pauses a moment to catch her breath as a small group of people rush to her aid, and then at last, she collapses. Her body hits the cold, unforgiving ground before anyone has neared enough to catch her. People swarm around her still frame- and they separate her from the dead child she clang to so securely. At last, the countless burns on both their bodies become painfully visible- and it becomes apparent that she never would have lived till sunrise should she have made it to a hospital.

"Just close your eyes... You'll be alright... Come morning light... You and I'll be safe... And... Sound..."

Tears are shed to mourn her loss- to mourn the loss of a young woman battling vainly to bring a long dead child to the safety of a nearby town. No one needs say how they came to die- everyone already knows. She, who had fought to save her child, had escaped the burning down only ten miles away from the one she had fled to. They had both been trapped inside a burning building, only to escape just before the walls could collapse on top of them. The child she carried, had died shortly after being taken out into the show- the shock of the drastic change in temperature killed him. She on the other hand, had thrown her own life away whilst trying to get her dead son to safety. This tragedy, was nothing short, of the proof of a mothers undying love for her offspring.
