Ok, I think it's time that I begin nagging you about a doing comic or two
Excellent, and I still have a few pair of pants like that

Yeah, I LOVED elephant bells!!!
You know, I've been reading a book of interviews with comic artists, and it's got me totally sick about comics again-- part of me just wants to sink into them as deeply as I was as a teenager...

Every time I go into my bedroom closet I wind up pulling a random issue from the stacks there. There was a hilarious one from the early 70s called Surf N' Wheels (Charleton Comics). I think it came in those comic grab bags that Woolworth's used to have with a couple of short run DC items (The Spectre, Hawk & Dove).
What ever became of Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom?

D'jou know, at one point, Barry Windsor Smith, one of the best artists ever to work in comics, was drawing a reboot of Doctor Solar; I never got around to picking up an issue, but that really looked promising... Remember those painted covers Charleton would do? Just amazing...
Gil Kane's Hawk & Dove covers...

Charleton's covers were great. Unfortunately, they branched out into the questionable practice putting pages between the covers.
Those Doctor Solar covers were beautiful. I have a couple and they're pretty much in pristine condition, seeing as how I could never manage to get through an entire issue.
I found one I'd completely forgotten about. I think "Stumbo the Giant" (Harvey) was within the Caspar the Friendly Ghost Universe, but he must have never taken off like Hot Stuff, or Wendy.
Ironically, Harvey Comics was once owned by Larry Flint

Larry Flint...
I hadn't realized it, but Alan Moore's initial involvement with what would eventually become Watchmen happened when DC acquired the rights to the old Charleton characters-- those were originally going to be Charleton characters wrapped up in the murder mystery that later centered around The Comedian; Dick Giordano didn't want to see those old characters, which he personally loved, involved in something as disturbing as what Watchmen showed every sign of being early on, so the characters' identities were changed...

It's from a book I'm reading called The New Comics (from 1987, so not so new anymore)-- interviews with lots of comic artists and writers; I was reading one with Moebius last night, so now I've got to go searching for all of his stuff I've got-- A really nice, comprehensive Moebius collection would be something I'd have a hard time resisting paying for...

Very nice work.

Are you familiar with David Mack's work? Kabuki? Guy's been on and on about Sakura gelly roll pens for YEARS now, and I only just got around to playing with them-- just a really responsive ballpoint pen, very lush!!!

Um...
This is quite hard.
Most of mine I know through deviantart, and I haven't really studied enough art history to even name more than a dozen.
So...
=mollygrue , =RYE-BREAD , *moosekleenex , `Endling (surprise there, haha) ~biz02 (especially the portraits), *muura , `sphilr ~Zorrin , ~carts (what I hope to paint like one day)and *greno89 to name the top off of my head.

Actually, I think I do. I've recently found the somewhat hidden world of comic artists on dA, and there's alot of really great work out there.
And of course I listed you, haha. You're one of my favorite theme/symbol/color/mood artists, not to mention how dedicated to your watchers/friends.
There;s also probably alot more out there, those were just some of the ones who update a bit more frequently.
