HahahaHAHAHAHHASJGFHDG I'm submitting on August the 7th! :bitchslap:I forgot a bunch of stuff on the previous tutorial so I made a second one. Now leave me the hell alone, sarcasm-addicts.

"Mary Sue" is the term for an original character you create for fanfiction, but has a lot of too positive qualities (sooo beautiful, great fighter, incredible powers, superpure gold heart, dramatic background, can't do evil at all, has very unique origins) that make it despicable for readers, especially if the "Mary Sue" often gets too much of the spotlight in a fanfiction work and gets much too involved with the 'real' characters (for example, the "Mary Sue" becomes the girlfriend of FFVII's Sephiroth who suddenly turns gentle and nice, or the "Mary Sue" who defeats the heroes of Pokemon because he/she is luckier than them).
This perfect "Mary Sue" character is often a character the author wishes to be, and so he/she makes her/him the most perfect possible... often ignoring that the readers will find this "Mary Sue" non-sympathetic and dull.
This term can also be used for RPG characters. And more rarely, for original characters in non-fanfiction work (ex:several people hate Usagi Tsukino because of her "Mary Sue" qualities).
If you create a fanfiction or RPG character, take this Mary Sue Test to see if your character is a "Mary Sue" or not: [link]
