But I'm a tool-junkie. I need to know. Even if I prolly don't end up using it anyways.

That's fine as well. You should have knowledge of as many tools as possible, that way you never have to stumble when working

That's a good looking hulk and it looks like you draw from the outside 1st

I start all my sketches on copy paper then when I'm happy with it put it on bristol board

I don't feel comfortable drawing unless it's a .5-mm or .3-mm( .3-mm only got to use it once but man did it feel great) or just a regular num 2 pencil.

There ya go. Go with what works for you, BUT, never fear to play around with other drawing tools as well, I try not to stick with what I know 'cause you do grow as an artist and you might enjoy newer tools

Oh I have hundreds of pens and pencils my fave so far to do finals is the 2mm push lead pencil I got because I can make it crazy sharp. :}

I'm currently trying out manga style (Can't say I like to much all my chars look the same with different out fits) and slapstick too like the cartoons.

Honestly, you seem to be alittle to wordy when you do these videos, and not much on drawing...

Someone once told me there is no one right way to draw >.>

I think people would get more out of your videos if they can just watch you work on drawing in general...
I think everyone who isn't a comic book artist knows they have to learn there muscles, forms and proportions..

I'm prolly the only one who thinks this way, I am glad you have no quams about sharing insight. but.
but alas i am not an expert my webpage is a testiment to that.

again thanks for sharing keep up the great art you do so well,

toodles

StevenSanchez In reply to Exergys [2008-11-06 11:48:45 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, I guess? lol - I understand about the talking part but I've seen many video's and they are mind numbing when the artist doesn't talk let alone give insight about what he or she is doing.

Being thorough is pretty important when doing these vids as many do enjoy the commentary. Hey, it's better than nothing, right

As for the drawing aspect, I mean, c'mon, it's pretty much drawing shapes on paper, what more do you want Thanks for commenting.

i think its the "how" you do things when drawing, then the "why" i find most interesting

Billnichols In reply to Exergys [2012-05-18 13:30:18 +0000 UTC]

Actually, WHY an artist chooses to draw something a certain way is important as well. The WHY can influence another artist in his or her own work at some point...
