and this isn't related but i just gotta get this out of my system: by the way for how much it was hyped up, good omens s2 was kinda dogshit imo. i feel blindsided by how many people liked it so much, but i felt this season catered a lot to people who are more fandom-brained & shipping orientated. i really loved the source material. watching characters i like get flattened out & lose most of their depth & behave in a fanfiction way (this is the kind & sweet & naive one with lots of faith that kind of bumbles around, & this is the bitter hardened cynical one) kinda sucked. i don't care or really mind the romance subplots, except those two ladies getting yanked around by a couple bozos playing cupid rubbed me the wrong way a lot. i'm glad they have a conversation about it. the flashbacks were excessively LONGGGG (the magic show made me want to stop watching) and didn't add anything new to their relationship, and the first one even retconned their meeting, which i didn't particularly like either. and the stakes were really low the entire time & the mystery's solution was something nobody would've been able to guess since there's no foreshadowing whatsoever. it would have been nice to have more of a lead up & care about those characters more than just abrupt flashback sequences. and the kiss scene was like..really violent. i'm sure people can wax poetic about how that's all he's known, that's the type of guy he is, this is his last chance, it's supposed to be desperate, but like it just looked painful. that's how you end up clacking your teeth & busting both y'alls lips. it hurts. i know from experience lol. anyway it wasn't all bad! the good parts were really really good! the humor is always funny! there was just more bad than good. every time aziraphale comes onscreen i don't want to feel secondhand embarassment. i know this is supposed to be a bridge to what was planned for good omens book 2, but i don't think it did a good job. okay bye just enjoy the art LOL
