Clay Fite
5 yrs old
He was severely burned in a gasoline explosion on Valentine's Day. Clay's being home schooled for kindergarten. But today, therapists from Parkland Hospital in Dallas came to answer students' questions. They explained that even though Clay may not look the same now, he's still the same Clay they knew before.

This is very inspiring nonetheless. I'm very passionate about inner beauty and people triumphing over trauma. This boy has quite a life a head of him and I imagine he already has a strong spirit and will grow even stronger as he gets closer to adulthood.

Oh, that poor little boy. I just went and looked him up and read all through his family's blog about the accident and the aftermath and his treatment and he has been SO brave, poor kid. I hope very much that everything goes well for him in the future and will be following the blog regularly. Good luck Clay!!

That poor boy!!! I'm so glad that he's brave and confident enough to go in front of people and have them talk about what must have been a traumatic experience in front of him. I think he's going to be just fine. This is simply awe-inspiring.

What an awful thing for that poor kid. Children can be so cruel when the see that kind of disfigurement too, I'm glad they are taking time to educate them that he is the same person they knew

I feel so bad for him... I've had a second degree burn recently, but it wasn't nearly as bad as this kid.
But, hopefully, things will turn out for the best

I just fell asleep for twelve hours... on the beach.
Part of my shoulder was burned so bad it was bleeding...
And it throbbed like crazy.
And the only scar was a bunch of freckles on my shoulders...

It was 11 at night when I fell asleep... but, you know, 12 hours make a big difference
