mushroom kitty

I was thinking about those velvet coloring pages while drawing this LOL. I like mushrooms a lot, I was originally planning on doing this in natural/woodsy colors, but after I added the black background I started thinking about those velvet coloring pages, and then I thought about those really colorful mushroom posters you see, and welp- this is what I ended up with. This was really more an attempt to break out of art block than anything else, and it happened to work. I left the cat a little more toony than normal, same as my previous upload (which I did right after I drew this), and while I don't plan on drawing in this simplified style for any length of time it was very relaxing to do it for the last couple pieces.

The soft shading right inside the lines is inspired by Dr. Seuss' art style, how he draws the fur inside the lines with simple black shapes- just so y'all know what my thought process was while working on this. One day I think it'd be fun to narrate over a recording of one of my drawings to show you guys my process. (:

I'm also thinking about turning this into a sticker for myself, I think it'd be cute.
