history: (old)
(might rewrite at some point) Was born and raised in secret upon a government spaceship; the only person he really knew was his mother. She doted on him all she could, but, having a position on said ship, she wasn't around very often. He was given basic literature to read, and could absorb a lot in a short amount of time, but learned very little in the way of what it actually meant to be Chiss. Because he was an unwelcome guest on the ship, at age four he had to sneak away and steal an escape pod; curious as to what was out beyond his bed. His mother was supposed to meet him; he waited as long as he could when the time came, but while avoiding capture he had to leave without her.

He wandered space alone; taking a job on a large mercenary ship that picked him up. They had originally wanted to sell him into the slave trade, but decided to keep him instead. He was enthusiastic, and could learn things easily; also, he didn't mind doing the menial tasks that others on the ship didn't want to do. Several years later, he had begun to get impatient with his place, and insisted to the captain that he get a promotion. He hadn't realized that this could not have come at a worse time; they were in battle with a rival gang, and Snap hadn't noticed until just then that they were losing. The voice of his mother in his head told him to jump into an escape pod once again, and he followed quickly; as if she had been right there next to him.

A small ship picked him up while scavenging for parts after the battle was over, and took him in. That was when he met Tallulah. She was a lovely and kind Devaronian, who had the ideals of adventure that her father passed down to her. It was fate that she found him, she had told Snap, and they traveled together for many years after that. She would find her own little spot and craft items, and he would watch her in awe; it was so amazing to him that she could build such complicated things with so little supplies. Tallulah was taken aback amidst getting to know Snap, and he often rubbed her the wrong way; especially since he insisted on wearing earrings. Despite this, she would always give him another chance, and ended up loving the little quirks. Snaps, however, absolutely adored everything about his new friend right off; he fell in love quickly, but didn't tell her.

One day he couldn't hold his feeling back any longer, and asked Tallulah if she would be his wife. After a few days of keeping him on the hook, she gave in and agreed to marry. The ceremony was a small affair, but they really didn't need anything as a filler; they were contented to face the sweet moments, as well as the trials, together. A few years passed, with each new day bringing its own sort of challenges; the two struggled, but made it through everything the universe threw at them.

Throughout Tela's travels, she would come across a particularly interesting junkyard or other gathering of strewn mechanical parts, and occasionally stop to go through a bit of it. She had more than twenty of these such places on her map, and added a new one with the discovery of a strange refuse pile in an asteroid outcropping. She had made it her project to repair what seemed to be lodged into it, and often revisited the site to see if she could make any headway. Snap watched as Tallulah put together some last few pieces of tech before the fragmented object lit up in blue and white energy. She had been doused in the light, and he fled to a nearby medical facility in an effort to help with her fading life. It was no use, it seemed, and she passed without even saying goodbye.

The loss of his wife tore Snap's heart in shreds, and he drifted in space for quite some time; mourning the loss of her soul to the abyss. Eventually he found a way to lock up all of his sorrow, and decided that, to preserve her legacy, he needed to keep her creations running. He soon found himself in the smugglers trade; finding it interesting enough, while still being impersonal. He has never gotten over the loss, but keeps Tula's ship in the sky to remember her. Thanks to the help of her hand-built astro droid, obviously, since he still doesn't know what most of the things in her ship do.
