Look indie rock is rock that pretty much only a few people maybelike 100 or so know about like for instance, i knew about Panic at the disco (not indie anymore) in early 2004 when the band just launched their myspace. So in my opinion a band is indie as long as no one knows about them

So you're saying that The Killers, indie even though tons of people know about them, AREN'T indie. Indie is used to describe a band signed to an independent record label. It has almost NOTHING to do with the band's sound.
