Description
I've embarked on a new personal project that combines a long-term love with a new addiction - i.e. dogs and icon-making. I'm planning to make 100 x 100 pixel icons (specially formatted for use on LJ, though they can be used on forums and the like as well) of all the AKC-registered dogs by group as well as more popular unregistered breeds. I'd be open to unregistered breed requests as well.
anyways. I've already finished the Toy Group over the span of about a week, yay. I quite liked the headshots I'd done of them, and a lot of the detail is lost in the resizing, so I thought I'd upload the original art
I just love drawing different breeds.

Taking mixed-breed requests is like taking requests for specific dogs, so I'm not sure if I'll be doing that - at least not till summer, and not for free

the one in the bottom left is the Chinese Crested. They are sometimes also seen in a full-coat variety called the 'powderpuff' variety :3

Mirta, if you click on the link in the description, it'll give you the answers ^^ This is the AKC-registered Toy group, as well, so that's why I'm not asking people to guess breeds
I'm doing AKC-registered breeds, not FCI - which is less breeds - but yeah. it's still just headshots, which isn't so bad. And yes, this is how much I love drawing dogs. ^^

I'm thinking I may try and convince my Steven to fork over the extra money for an exotic breed puppy when the time comes. I know it seems like a ridiculous amount of money, but I think it'll be worth it (even if they ARE a particularly flatulent breed. XD). Personality-wise they are so loving and gentle, but (with the right haircut) they have that terrier-look that Steven likes. Since I don't like the independent terrier personality, I think it's a good compromise, and a welll-bred and -raised puppy is worth the extra money. That, and when they get older, that extra money is pittance when you think about the medical expenses you're NOT incurring from bad breeding.
And they don't drool as much as a clumber would. *giggles*
If we're still friends when I get a backyard and a puppy (and I hope we are) I promise to be the worst pet owner ever when it comes to showing off pictures and telling amusing pet-stories.

Yeah, I really like Chinese Cresteds. I think all dogs are beautiful in their own different way, really - which is why I like drawing them so much and why I have such a vested interest in them

I don't think I've ever told you how absolutely adorable I think Ceara is :3. and I'll probably be doing all three dachsie coat types, just because they're all very distinct. (hence why there are both long and short haired Chis up there, both the smooth and rough Brussels Griffon and both the Papillon and the Phalene. heck, I even did the four Cav./King Charles coat colours. xD)

Today we took the dogs out in their winter coats (it was cold) and Ceara wore a little blue tartan coat! That was adorable! Timmy looks like a complete dork in his green one, and the one we have for Lili is so big it looks like she is a floating blob of magenta! Short legs!!
