FINALLY the Working Group headshots and icons are finished!
I had a lot more fun than I thought I was going to have, but these days I'm just enjoying life a lot more in general so yays. Drawing different breeds -- particularly breeds I wouldn't normally draw for fun, lawl -- and really trying to get the character and nature of each one in the drawings is such satisfying work. I'd forgotten how enjoyable it could be. 
I feel like I need to make more characters of more breeds so I have an excuse to draw a wider variety in my daily sketches!Finished Groups: Working, Sporting, Herding, Toy.
Coming Next: Terriers.
(for all you Irish Water Spaniel and Kooikerhondje-lovers: I made two more icons for those breeds and added them to Sporting.
)am also thinking of making dog group support colourbars.

I am completely in love with the floofy Samoyed, the Anatolian, and the Great Pyr. And just to jump on the bandwagon, the Husky looks superb!! I love the angle you've used and it certainly looks like it's real counterpart
I also love the Bullmastiff - it's expression is to die for! XD

eeee thank you so much for all your comments!! <3 I'm glad you like them, it always means a lot when people - particularly fanciers - say that my dogs look like the real thing. big floofy jowly dogs aren't what I normally draw so this wa a very fun experiment and I have a much better appreciation for them than I did before!

Heh, I'll stop spamming your inbox now XD I just had to show my luff of them ^^ I've recently gotten back into drawing dogs, and this has just inspired me to try something like this out for myself, in order to gain more experiance and skills ^^ It's been years since I last drew a dog, so I'm really hoping that I can get somewhat good at them again, and your art is a really good inspiration =3

I love the goofy look of the Dane and the perky expression of the Bernie, however I love love LOVE the Husky, of course. I dunno, the expression is so perfect and it's an expression (and head angle) I've been trying to capture for SO long. Would you mind if I were to use it as a ref in the future, with all due credit, of course?

I was about to say "I love -such and such-", but each one I look at, it's like "Wow that's amazing". I swear that you're one of my top favorite artsy friends...and one of my inspirations. I actually don't feel bad about drawing dogs all the time since people complain at school about how I draw dogs alot. I have to say I looked at each individual dog icon for like.....I don't even know. ALl I know is that I blanked out in front of company and didn't hear a single word said since I was sitting here looking at this for so long!! It's THAT awestriking to me...just left me very speechless or at "OMG" like a little valley girl XDD;

One, sorry for the late response. I've been struggling to get another laptop charger, since this is my fourth replacement..x_X;
And second, I still remember when we first met on here, and how I thought you weren't going to talk to me because I was too...."novice" or something. I always used to hear people on here were mean and stuff. xDD; I remember just surfing and I suddenly found this site, and you were one of the first artists I saw on here since I was looking for anthro dogs, and that first picture I saw was the one with the Ipods. I would just look back to try and find it, but the connection on this laptop is very lousy... ;-; And I still remember our first trade...it's been such a long time, and I still think of how I used to imagine how I'd never be able to talk to you since I would think that you'd be too busy.
Hopefully, you don't get many negative comments of what you draw... X_x;
I always get asked random questions like, "Is that a dog with titties?", or "Will you draw me a dog with a dick?"...or something along those lines, and I get tired of the same question, "Do you like dogs?" when it's obvious that I do, along with other canines. I can draw loads of other things and I agree with you, it's something I'm comfortable with and people just don't seem to get that through their ignorant heads for some odd reasons or another. But one thing I still have to improve on is patience... I get frustrated WAY too easily and I like to give up sometimes...and I'm somewhat lazy... ;-;

I used to get asked why I drew dogs all the time by everyone - heck, people still ask me that. but you know - nowadays especially - firstly it's not that I can't draw anything else, and secondly it's not that I don't draw anything else. dogs are just what I enjoy drawing and they are what I am most comfortable with. the variety of breeds to try and experiment with is just so staggeringly vast, how could anyone get bored with dogs?
and finally, I am always trying to hone my style and I like to try new things with it every once in a while, be it new subject matter or a new way of drawing particular things. that is how development happens.

On the boxer one, if you don't mind me saying, It's snout should be a bit shorter and more broad. I have pics of my boxers in my gallery if you want to use them. But yeah, boxer noses should be relitively short. The distance between their nose and face should be about the length of your thumb.

oh lawd this is awesome, the Neapolitan Mastiff is killin' me. i love how you made it as wrinkly as they're supposed to be, not just with a few wrinkles here and there and slightly droopy lips.
and i just have to ask, do you ever have specific genders in mind when you draw these dogs? i know that a lot of breeds are supposed to be distinctly feminine if theyre a female or distinctly masculine if they're a male.

and yes I do know about the gender differences, but for the icons' sake I just decided to attempt to make them all look pretty much generic. there was one photo I used of a male and female dobe side by side, and the gender difference was very obvious. o.o
