(to be scrapped eventually.)So much has been happening over the past two years that I realized I never uploaded these! If some of you may recall, more than a year ago I asked people to suggest dog breeds for me to doodle, in lieu of my evolving art style ([link] ) . I've drawn quite a number out of all that were suggested to me, but I suppose being busy with my senior thesis at the time I forgot to scan and put them up. Oh well, better late than never, eh?
Hopefully most of them are recognizable.

haha hey, I know how it is. I ended up doing my first internship second semester of senior year - I don't recommend that, but it worked out for me. xD
well, if you ever are around NY, I'll probably be here for a while yet. my studio is sponsoring my visa, so I'll be tied to them for a time - not that I really mind that, it's a good job and I'm enjoying it heh.

Small world! I'd love your opinion on my storyboards and animatic for my senior film when i get them done (oh gosh, i really need to start that soon) How far ahead did you know what you were doing for your thesis film, did you work on it a ton over the summer before???

they're always open but there isn't that much for interns to do around here right now. in the fall things will probably pick up, but one of our projects just finished production so at the moment we don't really need a huge crew,
the animation industry really is, isn't it? I'd love to see all that for sure, I felt bad that I got so wrapped up in life things I didn't get to really check out your Gladiator pre-prod stuff.
I got the idea for thesis the March before and it kind of evolved from there. I did work on it over summer and kept a sketchbook just for thesis drawings, but I was never terribly into the film. I'm glad I made it and I'm happy with what it is, but it was done mainly to fulfill my final year requirement and not so much because I genuinely believed in the film - the experience of making the film meant a lot more to me than the finished product, if you understand my meaning. I still don't really think I executed it quite how I wanted to, but at the same time I didn't have a very strong visual or directorial sense of what I wanted, and I still don't think I'm much of a director. I'd rather let somebody else deal with keeping the overall look and feel, and unleash myself purely upon the animation. my admittedly still limited experience in the professional world has made me even more sure of this, and I'm quite content to work at a studio on commercial projects and leave the festival circuit to actual filmmakers. that's not to say I'd never make another personal film or enter it in festivals, but for now I don't have any ideas, and thus no plans for doing so. at the moment I'll keep the personal work to doodles and clips and maybe something will be born out of that.

awesome again, swift (:. I must say, I enjoy the gesture of the dalmatian (sure, merc, pick out the single dog...). The way its neck and back are arched... it screams his breed!

thanks Merc! I'm glad you think the Dal looks like a Dal, because they're not a breed I think are easy to make distinct (besides the spots of course).

Well, when school ended I started volunteering n_n Now I'm at the shelter every now and then, 2 times a week or so, cleaning, giving water to the dogs and holding shifts when others can't. A guy from Germany who adopted one of our dogs, Dennis Brunn , is creating a website for the shelter, and me and another volunteer are ATM busy with collecting photos and info for the gallery of adoptable dogs
It didn't sound like much work at first, I thought I could do it alone, but turns out that 200 dogs is a lot more than I thought xD
So I'm glad I have help
In total, this shelter has around 100 dogs during the winter and 200 during the summer. And if you count me, 8 volunteers, and about half are only available during holidays (like myself) :<
The website isn't finished yet, but the Facebook group has a lot of photos if you're interested...it's in Croatian though xD
