Book 1, Peace and ChaosPreface:
"You'll never stop me! Faster the hedgehog!" Shouted Eggman at a small dark blue hedgehog. Her ears were laid back. She tossed her slicked back spines angrily.
"Try me Fatman!!" she shouted. "Cloud Chaser! Now!" A pure-white bat dived down; he held the ankles of a black cat. His orange eyes, and her hazel flecked green eyes glowed with hatred. As they flew over the fat fiend, Shade the cat let out a blast of fire from her hands. "Take that! Rotten Egg!" she taunted, messy black hair flying around her face as Cloud Chaser the bat soared onward, still holding her ankles.
"If you don't surrender Faster and the stars! I'll blow your planet apart" he screamed at them.
"You'll have to chase us across the galaxy!" yelled Ghost the fox, pale grey fur flying. A brown blur flashed by, slashing the bottom off Eggman's ship. "Sol! About time you showed up!" shouted Faster to the blur, a sparrow. His brown, white speckled wings beat the air strongly; He gave thumbs up to the group, and flitted up for another attack.
"Fatman says, "You-a will die!"
I would like-a to see him try!" Sol sang out in his slightly Italian accent.
"We're-a going to kick his oversized butt!
And not even put-a in the ground a rut! Aha ha! Not-a my best, but oh well"
Sol slashed the ship again and again. Shade scorched huge, melting holes in its side and top. Faster went for the propellers, trying to force the ship to the ground for an advantage. Fang and Ghost held off any reinforcements that Eggman dared to summon. Faster snapped the propellers with a couple well-aimed spin attacks.
"Come on! We have to get out of here!" yelled faster. She jumped into a ship, and everyone, including Sol, leaped in with her. The hatch closed, and they hurdled into space. "Get a new ship! We're going after them!" screamed Eggman, furiously shaking his fist at what was left of his robots.
"Shadow, what's a shadowbot doing here?" Sonic asked the red and black hedgehog next to him while glaring at the robotic copy, a roughly made one that had patches of metal showing. "I bring message from Eggman. He says, Sonic, you need to help me catch a hedgehog named Faster, if you do, I will never return to earth. Message ends," recited the robot.
"Tell him no, I'm not doing his dirty work for him"
Sonic replied flatly, wondering who Faster was.
"He offers a chaos emerald," said the robot.
"A chaos emerald? Hmm." Muttered Shadow. Sonic glared at him. "Here is a picture," said the robot, a screen opened, and a video played. "Go! Get out of here! Cloudy! Now!" she shouted. Her dark blue fur was smeared with ash, and her copper-ginger eyes were alive with the fire of battle. Her stained red sweater flapped in the wind, she spun at the camera and it went static.
"Amy! Get out of here!" shouted Sonic, holding up the door. "Shadow, get her out of here!" ordered Sonic when Amy refused. Shadow picked up the pink hedgehog, much to her protests and hammer, and raced out. "Chaos control!" shouted sonic, and vanished as the space station blew up. 'Sonic!" screamed Amy. "Don't worry, he had a chaos emerald, he used it, he's alright" assured Shadow.
Faster was doing her daily run around Chao Lake, she heard a thud close by, and a, groan? She swerved on a dime, her highly arched drag spines assisting her. She skidded to a stop next to a blue hedgehog. He was burnt in some places, and had a nasty-looking wound on his right arm that was ringed with yellow. She kneeled down, peering into his face. "Hey, you alright?" She asked the blue hedgehog. He sat up, his green eyes blinking open. "Who are you?" he asked. "Faster the hedgehog" she grabbed his hand and pulled him up. "Alliup you go," she chirped. His white-striped red shoes scuffed the dirt awkwardly. "Follow me, you can stay at the Roost with the Band," she invited. "By the way, my name's Faster, Faster the hedgehog" she said, and ran at a steady pace toward the Roost.
Part 1, Sonic's P.O.V.
"This is the roost," grinned Faster. It was an old lookout tower in the middle of a forest, right next to a lovely beach. But I had to say; I liked it. "You can use any of the beds, Oh, and don't use the perch, Sol booby-traps it, because a few years ago, he was baby sitting some eggs, and shade took the actual eggs, then cracked a few store-bought eggs and put them in his nest on his perch. When he found out; he was mad. Now he booby traps his perch, so don't go within 5 feet of it if you don't want skunk spray in your face, or eggs in your fur." Faster warned, chuckling. Fang stalked into a dark cave that had a single black candle burning inside it. "Don't go into Fang's cave unless you want to commit suicide" Faster said, hopping into a cloth hammock. I climbed into the vine hammock, flinching as my injured arm bent. Ghost had put a poultice on it, but it still hurt. And I watched the stars come up over The Roost.
After a time, Faster shot up in bed, her ears laid back. "Something's wrong, there's something here that shouldn't be," she rasped. She walked over to the window, and craned her ears toward the sky. "Stars, what are you trying to say to me? I am listening! Speak to me!" she wailed quietly. Fang was at her side in an instant. "What is it?" he growled, pale eyes flicking from the stars to Faster. "Something called a, Shadowbot is coming, and its, for me!" she snarled, as fearless and gallant as ever. "Its Eggman's! Back on my planet, a shadowbot came with a message from eggman, trying to get me to bring you to him!" Sonic said, alarmed that Eggman would go so far just for Faster, he wondered what she could to besides speak to stars. In a flash, Fang pinned Sonic to the wall by his neck. 'Did you agree" he snarled, looking murderous with his pale yellow eyes flashing. "O-of course I didn't!" he choked. 'Fang! Stop! If we're going to fend off eggman, we need all the help we can get!" she shouted. Faster ran outside to summon the rest of the Band.
"Cloud Chaser! Shade! Ghost! Sol!" she yelled into the sky. Then in came the Band from all directions. 'Eggman, or at least his robot, is coming here, we need to prepare. Sol, booby-trap the trees, Cloudy, take Ghost and circle around three times a day. Fang and Shade, you go in between cloudy and Ghost. Sonic, you're getting battle training with me." Faster ordered, with the calmness and coolness of an army general. "On it," replied the Band. Sol grinned maliciously, his golden eyes glittering. My first thought was automatically Okay; I am not going within TEN feet of HIS perch.
When Faster said battle training, she meant it. I already knew how to spin attack, but I could only so it with power rings. Faster could do it any time. She used small trees as her dummies. I learned to do ricochet, spin ricochet, spinout, even the deadly Kill Spiral. The first time Faster showed me, I didn't know how such a small hedgehog could knock down a forty-foot tall tree. She first spun into the air, then went in a spiral, and then shot off over the horizon. A blue blur passed me; the force knocking me over hard, and the tree was in pieces. I gaped at Faster, untouched, while chunks of tree were still falling. She also knew a move called The Whiplash. It meant she used two walls, or trees, to slingshot herself forward, then pulled up with a hard kick that could break necks, snap jaws like twigs, and shatter any bone or metal.
A few weeks later, I was as good a fighter as any of The Band. They began to open up to me more than ever. Faster showed me her forge, where she melted the sand from a certain part of the beach under Silver Point to form glass, and made beautiful sculptures, with only a few tools, her bare hands, and luck. Ghost showed me how he made perfumes, and the perfect stink bomb, or a sneeze powder. He made chemicals that could form instant mist, or amazing lightshows. Shade helped out Faster in her forge, keeping the fire strong, but loved doing acrobats with Cloud Chaser and Sol. Faster even joined in, and it was beautiful. I was content to watch Faster, Shade, Cloudy (Cloud Chaser's nickname), and Sol flying through the air. Faster twirling and dancing in midair over my head. Once Faster literally pulled me up into the acrobats, and I was whirling through the air by my ankles, no, my wrists, and back and forth and back. I was basically becoming one of The Band.
Part 2
"Sonic? So, you've sided with this, Band." Drawled Eggman when Sonic and the Band broke in. Minutes ago Sol had hotwired the security system, but he forgot to screw up one piece of machinery. As Faster was about to give the command to charge, She was blasted in her back. She fell to the ground, her drag spines and back smoking. The others, though they dodged, were somehow struck down by a blast that burned some of their fur off them. Only Fang and Me stayed out. Fang had turned invisible with surprise and instinct; I had simply darted around, because that's what I could do best. Fang and me watched in horror as a glass wall slid between Faster and us. The shadowbot, now with patches of metal showing, roughly grabbed faster by a burnt drag spine, wringing a small yelp of pain from her as it pulled on her burned skin. The robot tossed her down at Eggman's feet.
"Time to die," he said in a sickly-sounding singsong voice, and pulled out a gun. Faster pulled out a single star, and with the last of her strength, yelled "Star speed!" she vanished. I ran out to find where she appeared at, while Fang helped the rest of the band. Sure enough, when I went to the roost, in a blinding flash of light, Faster collapsed on the floor. "Oh, no." I murmured. I kneeled down and held Faster's head up. I picked her up easily, and laid her down on her hammock, and sat down near her head. I waited until Fang and the others came back. "Her life force is nearly gone, quick, get the star," he ordered. I obediently did, and he held it to her heart. It glowed, and for a second, nothing happened, then her chest moved, rising and falling.
"Ayyyye" she moaned softly. I hugged her tightly. "Sonic, hugging is not the best thing for a person who's basically just come back from the dead" she gasped. I let go, laughing. "Hey, Fang, come over here for a second" she said, sitting up. Fang walked over, so silent he made a ghost look loud "FLY-TACKLE!!!" she yelled, leaping at Fang and knocking him over onto the floor, her tail wagging like a happy dogs' tail. Everyone, including me, fell over laughing like a bunch of maniacs. Fang started laughing too. It was a low, yet clear laugh. I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. Faster nearly collapsed again from laughing. I put am arm around her to support her. "OOOHHH! Faster and Sonic, sittin' in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G" taunted Sol and Shade. Faster looked up at me with a quizzical "What the heck? Why not?" look. I leaned down, she leaned up, and our lips met. The first thing that came out of her mouth after the kiss was, "Don't start talking romance, or I'll puke on whoever says it," she warned, giving everyone the "I kill u if u start laughing," look. I heard a ship outside. Then wind came in so hard I had to hang onto Faster so she wasn't blown into the wall. We raced outside, ready to fight again.
" Hey Sonic!" came the familiar voice. "Sonic!"
Part 3
"Sonic!" yelled Tails.
"Hey there kiddo!" I called back, putting an arm around Faster. "SONIC!" yelled Amy, squealing with joy she ran up for a serious glomp. Faster shoulder rolled nimbly out of the way, but I got glomped by Amy. "Sonic, I thought we'd never find you!" she cried. "Woe, there, cowgirl" I said laughingly. "Who the heck is that?" asked Ghost. 'What the?" yelped tails. Ghost walked up and started waving a hand over him. "Tails, that's Ghost, he's blind." I called. "Oh, Hi, I'm Tails," said Tails to Ghost, who remained silent, still waving his hand over Tails.
"Hi, you have two tails, you fly with them, by the feel of it" Ghost commented. "Okay then," Tails muttered. "Hey-looow! New peepals!" called Sol, spiraling down to meet the arrivals, who jumped, not seeing the sparrow at first. Sonic walked over and put an arm around Faster, who pressed against him. "New peepals? What are your names?" He asked, skidding to a stop gracefully in front of Amy.
"My name's Tails the fox"
"Name's knuckles the echidna"
"My name is Amy the hedgehog"
"Pleased to meet you, my lady" grinned sol, kneeling down and kissing Amy's hand. She giggled, blushing. "I am Sol the Sparrow, trader extraordinaire!" Declared Sol, setting everyone snickering.
"Shade the cat here!"
"Ghost the fox,"
"Fang, the echidna."
"Faster the hedgehog"
There was a lot of talking, and a glaring contest that Fang won hands down, even against Knuckles. A footrace that ended in a tie between sonic and Faster. Sol swept Amy off her feet multiple times. Cloud Chaser attempted to flirt with Amy, but was too shy, and the looks Sol was giving him made Cloud Chaser worried that Sol would booby-trap his bed. Somewhere around midnight, everyone was sitting, talking, and laughing around a bonfire. Faster and Sonic snuck away from the group, and up to a tall tree some hundred, two hundred yards away.
"You know, this is probably the best night of our lives" said faster to sonic.
'Yeah, you're right, all our friends together, us two together" replied sonic, putting an arm around faster and pulling her close, while holding her hand with the other. The green eyes met the copper, and their heads moved closer together. Their eyes closed, and their lips met. The stars glowed the entire night, so bright it was almost like sunlight burning at midnight.
Faster woke up as the sun shone inside. She remembered falling asleep in Sonic's arms. She turned to see sonic still asleep, and carefully got out of the hammock. Faster started making breakfast burritos, careful not to put any eggs or meat in Sol's, no cheese in ghost's, so on.
"Wake up, breakfast!" she called out, biting into her burrito. No response. Faster leaped up the stairs. She ran in tight circles until she made something like a tornado. Not enough to hurt them, just to maybe toss them out of bed. She was lifted up a bit as the tiny tornado passed by on its second, wider circle around the room. "Tornado!" yelled Tails, jumping up and running from the tornado, which pursued him. A deep, throaty laugh came from the tornado. Tails screamed, which woke sonic up, he was about to attack the tornado when Faster intervened. "Sonic! No! Its only Fang!" to prove her point, she swiftly fly-tackled something behind the tornado, which turned out to be fang. "Fang, no breakfast burrito for you!" scolded Faster. "No way, sister, that burrito is mine!" yelled Fang, shoving Faster off him and running for the stairs. Laughing, Faster raced after him. When she caught up to him (Dang he's fast!) he was holding his burrito, "Gimme the burrito!" yelled Faster, jumping almost two feet in the air. "No way! Its mine!" protested Fang, holding the burrito out of Faster's reach. Faster then backed up, tackled Fang, and took the burrito. "My burrito!" she shouted and raced back upstairs with Fang in hot pursuit. She jumped out the window and dove into the water, making a bubble and sinking to the bottom of the lake. "Dang it!" shouted Fang. "Hey Fang! We got the whole thing on tape!" called Shade from the window. "Dudette you suck!" replied a clearly irked Fang. Faster came out of the water, with no burrito. "Sorry, Arthur got it first." She said sheepishly. I started laughing like a madman. "I can't believe you were beaten to a burrito by a stinking fish!" I choked out through my laughter.
Before I knew what happened, I was hanging by my ankles, barely a foot from the deepest part of Chao Lake. "Ghaaaaah! Help me! Help! Help me! Water! Water! Yahhhh!" I yelled.
"Eh shade! You get-a dat on tape?" Yelled Sol, he was the one who was holding me by my ankles. "Yep!" she replied. Sol then spun me around until I was sure my burrito was going to come up, then let go. I became Sonic the skipping stone, bouncing across the water at least six times before splashing down in the shallows. "Dang it Sol!!" I yelled at the sparrow. "Aha! Ha ha!" he laughed in his Italian accent. I then spun attacked Sol, making him flip over and over. Then I pushed him so he fell into the lake. Sol started splashing around; yelling "Can't swim! Can't swim! Can't…. swim?" the he stood up in only chest high water!! "Got that on tape too Sol!" Suddenly there was an eruption in the middle of the lake! Everyone was soaked, except the camera. A spinning tube of water opened to reveal Faster. Only up to her waist in water, controlling the tube. The force of the water made her quills fly. "The stars say something's wrong!" she shouted, her playful smile turning serious. She turned the tube into a tornado, and surfed on the top of it. Shade used the heat of the air to lift herself as high as faster. Fang used physic powers to keep himself in the air. Cloud chaser let Ghost piggyback on him. Sol let me stand on his back. Amy was ready with her hammer. Tails had the x- tornado in battle mode, his face set. Knuckles stood on top. I felt a breeze, and suddenly Shadow was at my side. "Shadowbot!!" Tails yelled. There was an army! Though they were only partially like shadow, with huge patches of metal showing plainly. "Charge!" shouted Faster. And war it was!
Part 4
I fought alongside Faster. We were a team. Amy and Sol were closer than two peas in a pod. It seemed the war was over as I watched Faster do a back flip and ride one bot like a rodeo bull.
"Gee up cowgirl!" yelled someone before she snapped its head off with a blow to its skinny neck. Then the first shadowbot, the one that made the army that we had just defeated, was back. He grabbed Faster by the throat quicker than I could run, throttling her. "Ahhhhhh" was the only sound she made besides gasping for breath desperately. Shade was about to throw fire at the robot, but he squeezed Faster's throat harder. Faster choked out one word. "NOVA!"
"Faster, no! It'll kill you!" I said. "No, let her, she has a star. It will keep her alive, for now." Fang interrupted. I reluctantly threw a chaos emerald to her.
She was silent as Nova coursed through her. The stars, instead of running cold, grew hotter and hotter. She blasted white fire stronger than shade's at the robot, but he came back and took the chaos emerald! Nova returned to Faster, and was a bit weak from the strain. I held her up, supporting her. "No, I have to do this, he only has a chaos emerald, and I have the stars." She said. I took her hand, and she smiled up at me. She and I walked up the patch of starlight, hand in hand. Up into the air. The stars made a zodiacal light, as they did when Faster was dying. She glowed with radiance and light. Shadow charged again and again, lightly knocking Faster twice for every strong attack. Nobody could move. Her eyes turned an intense dark cobalt blue. Then she was free. She dropped to earth. "I, I'm not the star guardian anymore." A ghostly form of a cherry-red echidna walked up. "No Faster, you still are the star guardian. Us former star guardians need all the power we can get." She said. Faster gaped at her, copper-ginger eyes wide as a plate.
"What you are about to see is Faster becoming the star guardian again." Spoke Cherry, and then we were plunged into a blinding mist, I couldn't see Faster's hand, even though it was barely a foot from me. When the mist cleared, we saw Cherry, standing bravely against an evil, a dark brown and white hedge-cat, an evil of a different time. We didn't see the entire fight. The band, my friends, and I only saw Cherry strike the final blow to the thing. The thing, with its last ounce of energy, made to kill both Faster and Cherry with a gun, but it only hit Cherry fatally in her stomach as she dove in front of it to protect Faster. "Cherry!" yelled an 8-year old Faster. A 13-year old Fang was at Faster's side at her cry, though she didn't see him. "Cherry, don't leave me!" wailed Faster as the dark blue of her eyes was fading to grey. "I'm sorry I had to leave you so soon, the stars will watch over you, and they will send you help." Whispered Cherry, while struggling for breath, and drowning in her own blood, and The wound in her stomach was so covered in blood you couldn't see the wound itself. "I'm coming, Jonnie, old friend" she whispered, and closed her eyes for the last time, and let out a long, slow, breath. Faster flung back her head in agony, and let out a long wail as Cherry slipped away. Her wail ended and she bent her head low, tears dripping onto her dead mentor's face. "I will avenge your death, Cherry, Do you hear me? I will be the best guardian ever! Do you hear me, Cherry?" her choked whisper ended in a shout. We woke up with a jolt. "Good-bye! Cherry!" she yelled, waving with tears rolling down her cheeks. "Good-bye." Cherry whispered. She faded into the night as the top right corner star of the little dipper. Other ghostly forms came up. "I am Jonnie, I was Cherry's mentor, and I wish you well." Said an ornery brown fox with merry grey eyes.
"I am Rhett, I was before Jonnie." Said a fierce-looking, English-accented pale blue hawk. Many more guardians came by. Last was a hedgehog whose resemblance to Faster was shocking. She walked up, stars puffing from the ground like dust at her every step, her white skirt swirling around her. "Faster, my distant daughter, I am Diamond, the very first star guardian. I am also the northern star, Polaris. I will watch over you forever. And you will feel my presence, just as you will every star guardian that came after me. Good luck, my child!" then she faded into nothing.
Part 5
Being with the Band meant adventures and missions, with a few quests thrown in. The kind varied, from exploring, to some scary, with a couple of downright hilarious ones thrown in, danger and life-threatening situations were something that the Band was made for. Faster could keep cool even when Fang got fidgety. It took a lot of learning to be able to go on an adventure. Ghost usually stayed behind, especially on dangerous missions and adventures so he could be available if someone was hurt. I also had to learn all the silent signals; even a twitch of a tail could be something. Faster also could speak, read, and write an ancient wolf language that nobody else but Fang understood. The very first, but not the last, adventure/ mission/ quest I went on with the Band almost turned out to be our last. It was dealing with some ruins where people had been vanishing mysteriously, and The Band was on the case.
I hoisted a bag onto my shoulders. Faster and everyone else had one too. Cloud Chaser would be carrying Ghost, because he could sense things the rest of us couldn't, and Sol would be staying, or going off trading. The ruins were on the same landmass as us, so we wouldn't be taking the ship. Cloud chaser flew forward first, with Ghost crouching on his back. Me, Faster, Shade, and Fang ran after him, the packs, which didn't have much in them anyways, not slowing any of us down.
We stopped at the edge of the stone city. It had statues of random animals, seedrins, and even what looked like ancient gods. They were all smiling, but it seemed like a false, almost scared smile, as if something would happen if they didn't smile. I was fidgety, and I could tell the rest were too, especially Faster. She had her ears laid back, and she kept shuddering. Ghost stopped dead; he kneaded the ground with his toes, blackened from soil that had never washed off. "Something's here. It wants us here, but something's wrong. It's dark, very dark. Darker than even pure chaos." Said Ghost, he was affected, and Shade took his hand for a few to reassure him. We went inside an old temple, and Ghost jumped at every noise, which wasn't like him at all. When we came to the largest, and only room at the end of the hall, something wasn't right. There was one table, and one chair. Ghost trilled nervously, "The ghost is going to appear, it's glad to have people for a midnight snack." Then a shadow swirled down, and formed into, Cherry! But I felt it wasn't her, last time Faster and me saw her appear, she appeared in a shower of stars and light, not a swirl of shadows. Faster sensed it too, but played along. "Come, it's almost midnight, and you must be hungry." Invited shadow Cherry. "Sure, thanks." Replied Shade. When shadow cherry was out of the room, Faster whispered to them, "Its not Cherry! It's something else, something dark, and powerful. Aren't I right? Ghost? "Yes." Replied ghost grimly. "Play along, but don't eat or drink anything." She muttered as shadow cherry same back in. I was surprised at how well they faked eating and drinking. "Cherry, how did you, you know, die?" asked Ghost innocently. Everyone knew, but this was a test. "I was… I was. Buried alive," replied shadow Cherry uncertainly. "Wrong answer. Everyone! Get out of here! Yelled Faster, whipping all the food and drink, along with the table, into the spirit's face. "You'll die for that! Star Guardian!" It shrieked, changing into a shadow. Faster shoved everyone out into the hall, and turned to face the thing. It whipped dark magic at her pretty fast! She only had time to dodge one before another flew at her. Once she dodged one that came at her, and one hit her full force in the chest, slamming her into the wall. "Faster!" Cloud Chaser yelled. "Stay back! No matter what you see, stay back, or I'll go Nova!" she yelled, dodging another whiplash. Then the thing shouted, "Dark whirlpool!" and sent a large whirlpool of purple and black darkness at Faster. It sucked her up before she could react. I heard Ghost scream in mortal terror, as if he was seeing things that no child should see. The Band leaped into action! They were a blur, Shade was there at your side one second, then you look away, and next Ghost is at your side, and Shade's on the other side of the room, sending a pillar of blue, almost white fire at the enemy. Faster appeared for a second above the whirlpool, her arm stretched out for help, eyes closed in pain, teeth gritted on a scream, burns spotting her arms and what we could see. Then her grey eyes turned darker and darker as her friends were whipped, and tossed. Her fur turned a menacing midnight blue, and black, evil fire sprung up around her feet. "No!" yelled Shade. "Dark Nova," muttered Fang. Faster's eyes were glaring black points that saw nothing. It scared Sonic so badly that he couldn't believe that was she. "Don't look into her eyes! Whatever you do, don't look into Dark Nova's eyes!" bellowed Fang as he flitted around, eyes never leaving Dark Nova. He approached, and her sinister head turned toward him, her palm raised, ready to send black fire at him. "Faster, It's me, Fang," he said in a low voice, slowly walking forward. Her eyes turned copperish, but her fur was black. "You're Faster, not Dark Nova. Wake up, wake up," he said, as though he was trying to wake up a child having a bad dream. Her fur turned a bit bluer. "Wake up, Little Star," Fang said, putting a hand on Dark Nova's shoulder. Dark Nova swirled, and there was Faster, drained, but all right. "No!" screamed the shadow. "It's time you met your match," snarled Faster. Her fur turned white, and glowed with ferocity. "Hyper Nova," whispered Ghost, awestruck by what he could sense.
Hyper Nova gained power, and kept gaining, until wings of pure light sprouted out of her back, and she was light. "Angel Nova," gasped Fang, who had never seen this before. "Go," came Faster's voice from the light, it echoed off the walls, and the shadow creature shrunk from the light, until it vanished. In a blinding flash, Angel Nova was Faster. She looked more powerful than ever, quills and hair flying in the wind, eyes glowing with power, love, bravery, loyalty. A wolf howled in the distance, and lightning struck right behind her, lighting her up in a mesmerizing display. Ghost's jaw dropped. Fang stood there, eyes wide, mouth an inch open, stunned beyond measure.
Part 6
It was another day with the Band, which meant mischief, friendly bickering, and fly tackles. I stumbled over something that Sol left on the ground and hit the wall, which crumbled away to reveal another room. "Guys! What did I just find?" I called. "Sunny's old room." Murmured Cloud Chaser. "He's staying here, he should know about her, he was going to find out sooner or later," said Faster. "What? Who's Sunny?" I asked. "There wasn't always just 6 of us, there were 7. It was when The Band had just formed, and before we found this place." and the story began.
Faster's P.O.V
We had found a planet, one even smaller than this one, and there we found Sky Sweeper, she was alone, and scared. We took her in immediately, but Cloud Chaser took care of her the most. She was all right for the most part, just weak from fright and malnutrition. As her health came back, she turned out to be a good listener. Cloud Chaser and her used to go out. We really thought we had a permanent addition to the Band, but then Eggman happened again. He had followed us, and Sky sweeper had stepped forward to oppose him. "Leave. These are my friends, and I won't let you hurt them," she said, stepping in front of us. We were stunned, and Eggman used a pillar of pure chaos to destroy us, Sky Sweeper used the gem on her chest, and absorbed it all. "Sunny! No!" Cloud Chaser, running forward, tears rolling down his face. "No, Cloudy, stay back! I, I've got to do this. You guys get out of here! Go!" she had yelled, still absorbing the Chaos. We ran to our ship, and Sky Sweeper had dissolved into gold dust, and shimmered into nothing. We came here, and we'd accidentally made a room for her, forgetting she was gone. Cloudy bricked it up himself, and vowed never to think about her again, although he does, though he tries to hide it from us.
"And that's Sky Sweeper's story," finished Faster. The Band's heads were bowed in sadness. Sonic never mentioned Sunny again.
Part 7, Sonic's P.O.V.
It was winter at The Roost, and Christmas Eve. There wasn't much gift giving, mainly singing and pranks. Faster led the carols, starting with her favorite, 'Angels we have heard on high'.
Angels we have heard on high,
Sweetly singing o'er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echo back their joyous strains
How that girl could sing like an angel, I don't know. Fang didn't sing, but the only Christmas Carol he really liked was 'Silent Night', and he sung a low base. Him and Faster made a beautiful duet, coupling his base to her alto/ soprano. The band and me sang along to the jumpy, fun tune of 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' with Shade twirling a green-and-red elf hat on her right hand. Her and Cloudy started doing a chorus kick line, and before I knew what had happened, we were all singing and dancing and laughing. Fang had dragged out a piano and now he and Faster were doing a fast and furious duet, each of them looking at each other while their fingers flew. Fang went into a solo, and then began slow-dance music. I pulled Faster off the bench, and we danced slowly as the sun set behind us. Shade and Cloudy were dancing together, white fur brushing black. Fang was still playing, his eyes softer than I had ever seen them before. He played up and down that piano like he owned it, and for all I knew, he did. Faster twirled, and swished better without a dress than she ever could in one. Her eyes flashed, her body moved like water, each movement flowing and graceful. I had never had such a crazy, fun, beautiful Christmas before in my life.
