When he returned to Killdane Junction he wore a ponderous expression, much to Chris' curiousity when he saw James puff in. The South Western engine was delivering a special train of potted wildflowers, picked from the fields around Ulfstead Halt on his branch line. Several stationmasters along the mainline had put in orders for wildflowers to decorate the station houses and he was fulfilling these orders. "Are those wildflowers you've got, Chris?" James asked.

"Yes, they are." He answered. "The stationmaster here at Killdane has ordered some, and so have those at Wellsworth, Maron, Cronk, Kellsthorpe, and Crovan's Gate."

"Well, Sir Topham Hatt told me to tell you that the stationmasters along my line have ordered some, too." James said. He was lying, but he didn't tell Chris that.

"I won't have enough for them today, I've still got stops up the line, but I can come back tomorrow with some." Chris replied.

"That's alright." James said. "My girlfriend loves wildflowers!"

"So does mine!" Chris exclaimed, surprised. "Drew loves this time of year when the wildflowers at Ulfstead Halt come into bloom. Anyway, have to get going!" Chris then puffed away, and James smiled knowing that his plan to show Calynn his love for her was falling into place.
