This is a playable race!
It is a mixture of Werewolves and Tinderbox Dogs
Here is an essay on Tinderbox dogs if you don't know much about them:
TinderBox Dogs: Let's Get Weird"The Tinderbox" (Danish: Fyrtøjet) is a literary fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen about a soldier who acquires a magic tinderbox capable of summoning three powerful dogs to do his bidding.  When the soldier has one of the dogs transport a sleeping princess to his room, he is sentenced to death but cunningly summons the dogs to save his life."  According to Wikipedia *** So I've been told this story since I was very young, as my dad is the best and educated me  in only the cream of the crop of classic literature.  This  particular  story however, has stuck with me for one reason-  The dogs.   They are  without doubt  one of the most  ... If you don't know what they are you should read this for context
(also I wrote it and I'm proud of it so give it a read

A Tinderbox werewolf can be turned from any race by one of three ways:

  • A tinderbox dog bite (usually only if the person tries to take more of the dog's treasure than the dog allows)
  • Spending the night of a full moon alone in a room full of treasure where a tinderbox dog once guarded
    • (who knows what happens when it's a blood moon or harvest moon I'm just sayin)
  • Collecting 13 jars of pocket change (must contain copper, silver and gold coins)
  • This form of lycanthropy is not hereditary and will not pass to children, and other people cannot be 'infected' with the bite of a tinderbox werewolf.
And unlike the common werewolf, a Tinderbox werewolf is constantly in Dog-Race 'hybrid' form.
There is currently no known cure

    • Intelligence: +0
      • +2 investigation for sight, +4 investigation for smells
    • Wisdom: +0
      • +4 perception for sight, +3 perception for smells

      • +4 intimidation when staring.
    • Armor class: 12* without armor

Age: There is no indication that this lycanthropy affects aging
Alignment: neutrals of any alignment are very rare, either chaotic or lawful for any alignment.
Size: 3 categories based on this list of DnD race 'sizes' (www.dandwiki.com/wiki/5e_Races… )
    • “Great” Tindire: largest of tinderbox werewolves- HUUUUUGE
      • Any race under the “large” category that are turned
      • Becomes especially covetous of things like gold coins
    • “Standard” Tindire- Anywhere in between 'miniscule' and 'behemoth'
      • Any race under the “Medium” category that are turned
      • Becomes especially covetous of things like silver coins
    • “Toy” Tindire- very very small tindire werewolves
      • Any race under the “Small/Tiny” category that are turned
      • Becomes especially covetous of things like copper coins
    • All three sizes will also hoard small amounts of any precious metal- rings, gold nuggets, etc.
Speed: 30ft* when not summoned with tinderbox, 50ft when summoned with tinderbox
Their languages: Every turned race gains a knack for learning Sylvan
    Features (abilities):
    • This smile isn't just for show
      • Multi attack: Since they are constantly in hybrid form, Tinderbox Werewolves can make two attacks per turn: one with their teeth, and one with their weapon. (Their claws usually aren't very useful in a fight).
      • Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: (1d8 + 2) piercing damage.*
        • (Other weapon: Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: (1d8 + 2) piercing damage.*)
    • "You rang?"
      • If another teammate possesses a tinderbox and strikes it 1-3 times, the werewolf will know exactly where they are, and may or may not choose to go immediately to their location, though ignoring the summoning will cause the werewolf's body to itch intensely
    • Focused
      • Tinderbox werewolves become adept at doing 'nothing' at no expense to their sanity or energy levels
        • Can keep watch 2/3 nights with no ill effects to ability
    • Tempted
      • If a Tinderbox werewolf is met with an unguarded room full of treasure (containing mostly their preferred metal), they will be consumed with the compulsion to sit on the treasure and just wait.
      • Their party may take some of the treasure but only as much as their pockets can carry, if they take any more, the werewolf will attack them.
      • The only way to snap the werewolf out of this is to summon them with a tinderbox from outside the room.
    • Anime as Freak
      • Tinderbox werewolves can see through hair. Their own, and others'.
        • Any material from spiderwebs to wool curtains poses no obstruction to their vision.

    Examples:

    • Freddie
      • Human whose dog influence is a Anatolian/Golden lab mix

    • Senator Crumbs
      • He is a Tiefling whose dog influence is a Borzoi

    • And here are some other examples of eyes and turned races

Common physical traits of being turned:

    • Large eyes- most Tinderbox werewolves are unable to blink, but that doesn't matter anymore
    • Teeth usually become much more doglike, chin recedes and tongue flattens
    • Grows whiskers along mouth, chin, and eyebrows
    • Body hair (including facial) may increase to the point of thick fur
    • Shoulders shift down and closer together, upper arms/thighs shorten, forearms/shins lengthen, palms and soles lengthen
    • May transition to digitigrade (walking on toes like a dog), or remain plantigrade (walking on soles like a human)
    • May grow a tail and multiple vestigial dewclaws not attached with bone, and may not
    Fun facts:
    • Tinderbox Werewolves are no more in touch with nature or other animals or even with normal dogs than they were before. Dogs, in fact, seem a bit wary of them. Cats and foxes are rarely seen in the same county as one, if they can help it.
