A low-caliber version of the large M4 series pistols, designed around the 6.2x29mm polymer cased telescoped cartridge. The M6 was not adopted by the UFS military, because they generally favor larger caliber handguns for their ability to fire much more effective payload material rounds (like HE, Incendiary or electric) over low-caliber high-velocity ammunition. The gun is however quite popular with counterinsurgency units of the police and bodyguards who, for the most part, do not encounter heavily augmented individuals or power armor wearing opponents.
The M6 series features the rather unique COF push-button slide lock/release introduced with the M4 pistols.
The main difference between the M4 and the M6, apart from the caliber, is a significantly less bulky grip, that makes is much more comfortable to use for people with smaller hands.
