Spiritual successor to that one scrapped piece I made a long time ago. Along with a new HC for the Hyenas in TLGBackground is from here: static.wikia.nocookie.net/lion… but it’s been sliced to make it a bit bigger

“Furbrains!” Janja shrieked at the Clan of cubs, “all of you!” He hopped in place, snapping at the air, “what were you all thinking?” He glared at the Clan, all of whom had their heads hanging low. Save for Nne and Tano who had collapsed on the ground.
“We were just hungry,” Chungu mumbled, his head hanging so low his nose almost touched the ground.
“So you tried to join another Clan?” Janja snarled, tail shooting up. Nne’s head raised, staring silently at Janja, making the cub snap, “we still got a Clan! We will not betray our family!”
“They’ve already been feeding us,” Nne responded slowly, Tano’s head pressed against his side. “What family do we got, Janja? Look at us. We’re hungry and they’ll give us food.”
Snapping in his direction, Janja growled, “who cares if they’re feeding us? Doesn’t mean we join ‘em!” He glared around at the countless starving cubs, “I’m hungry too, but Vumbi and the others are coming back. They promised!” He jerked his head up, his eyes burning.
“Gee Janja,” Cheezi rasped, tongue hanging out and head low. “Do you really think she’s coming?”
Janja stiffened up, eyes going wide and shaking. Cheezi had asked innocently, a part of him knew that, Cheezi was too dumb to be mean to him. He knew that, he did.
“Stay right there,” Vumbi had whispered, smiling fondly down at him, “you take care of the other cubs, aright?” She tilted her head to the others, “we’ll be back soon, alright?”
“Promise?” He had asked quietly, leaning into her leg.
“Cross my heart,” she had whispered back at him, moving away from his touch.
That had been so long ago now.
“Shut up!” Janja shrieked, feeling the hot tears on his face now. “Shut up!” He snarled, and shook his head, “she is! She is coming back!”
“Ok, Janja,” he heard Tano mumble into his own leg.
Shaking, and grumbling, he continued, “if eating their food is going to make you furbrains leave, we’ll stop taking it!” There was an immediate whining, and he shrieked, “I am the leader! I call the shots!”
Glaring at all of them, he breathed harshly, “we’ll find our own food from now on.”
And he knew just a place to look for it.

Yeah relatively quick thing despite the numerous Hyena cubs. Changed my HC just a little bit as well.
Jasiri’s Clan for a little bit did take care of the crew, giving them food, and even tried to take them in. It didn’t work. Cause Janja believes his sister (and Clan) will return.
Which unfortunately for his hopes and dreams they will not. Since big sis and her friends ditched them, and the rest of the Clan believe they died in the fire.
Also all the hyenas here were seen in TLG media. Got the names five: Janja, Chungu, Cheezi, Nne, and Tano. And we got two random background dudes in TLG

Uhh left to right for these guys: Usiku, Misheni, and Staajabu
All five of em are relatively nobodies. Probably kids to lower ranking Hyenas in Shenzi’s Clan. Not sure how to explain the lack of the trio in TLG show tho. Maybe they left? Or eventually went against Janja’s wishes and joined Jasiri’s Clan.
Probably sometime before Zira’s Pride took over the Watering Hole of course. Gotta also explain why they’re not seen there if I go that route.
Not going to say not gonna do another one. Cause I said that last time despite trying to go on hiatus. Just need to draw I guess. Good release from emotions fjsmsmsmsm
