Description
A close-up of my TIE Interceptor MOC's cockpit section. I added some controls because the set didn't have any, and changed the underside laser cannons back to the proper colour. (I know the 'lasers' are green, but the cannons are red on the tip.) I also made the topside hatch open like it's supposed to. The window opens too, but only because A: that's how the window connects, and B: it's hard to get the pilot in and out with fingers just through the top.
The other major difference is that the wing pylons are much, much longer than on the 75300 TIE Fighter set I used to make (most of) this model. I changed them to be not only longer, but more properly centered and balanced in relation to the cockpit sphere.
It was also important to make sure the front of the cockpit, around the 'chin' was sturdy and strong, because the center of balance for the model is farther forward than the front of the cockpit, thanks to the wings. (More about that in the side view image)
