So this is how little Scyse met Sady, her best pen pal / friend!
This goes way back to when Scyse was in kindergarten; there was a pen pal programme held where the kids in her year would draw a name and send said person a letter. It would go on until the end of the semester, and Scyse didn’t have many friends when she was young, so she really wanted to make a good impression on Sady, who was the kid she had drawn.
But well you know, kids will be kids, and Scyse decided to start her letter off by asking Sady if he shared the same interest in science and gadgets in general as her. Though it was awkward, that one question was what helped them both get along as yes, Sady did share an interest in science and gadgets as well.
So about Sady, he’s from another school in a reagement that’s more ocean-based and is run with more traditional rules; he’s a goldblood / treble, and is a little more meek and careful compared to Scyse, who’s braver and more risque. He’s two years older than her, but the both of them share a strong bond similar to a pair of twin siblings who care for each other very much.
And here you might ask: if that is the case, how come Sady was associated with Scyse in the first place, with their classes being different alongside their age gap?
Well, I made it so that red, orange and yellow bloods typically go to school together, as they’re the lowest classes in the caste. And for the age gap -- well, back in secondary, everyone in my class didn’t share the same age as me, but we learned the same things anyway -- so I applied that logic to the schooling system here.
Anyways, Sady’s reagement follows along with the lifestyle of pirates and fishermen in general. Like I said before, it’s run with traditional rules, but there’s some modern gadgets here and there to help the citizens perform some daily tasks more efficiently. So although Sady does have the proper devices to contact Scyse faster, the both of them prefer to keep up with the letter writing for sentimental value, alongside being able to surprise each other with little gifts in their mail every once in a while.
