When I saw this I was wondering what would make Mewtwo play along with them, and I was reminded of that Steven Universe Future episode (no spoilers bc I'm like like that ^^), so now my headcanon voice for Mewtwo is Steven. Nobody can change my mind. He has a secret career as a Crystal Gem and nobody knows his real identity.
