Description After reading a few messages on the Apophysis mailing list regarding the creation of single transform flames, I decided to have a play with the concept and see what I could come up with... and the Funky Flames method was born...

Shouts go out to Datagram and Ulli for the inspiration via their discussions on the single transform flame concept that is the basis of the Funky Flames method - thanks guys!!

You can view the webpage version of the method at the following link... [link]

You can dowload a pdf file of the above webpage at the following link... [link] ... or download it from the deviation above.

...and you can download a base flame set created from using the first 3 steps of the method at the following link... [link]

Enjoy!

I posted 2 that I made with it in my gallery. The method works well.

I've been having a great time with your original journal entry. Hope you are feeling better! Thanks again for sharing this method of making wonderful Apo flames.

I'm feeling great - healing faster than I thought I would - and now I've palmed my mother off onto my aunt, I'm going to spend some quality time on the PC myself... lol! I love my mum - but she doesn't understand that I love my PC too... lol! I've been having withdrawal for the past week that she's been here looking after me...

What really brings me happiness, though, is to see and hear of other people enjoying the wide scope of the Funky Flames method - there's nothing better than being able to share with others.

I read this from your previous journal already, havenΒ΄t had the time yet to experiment with it. Will too at some point, if thereΒ΄s a chance to get something as cool as your fractals with apophysis, IΒ΄m really going to make the effort.

Thanks for this, I hope it will prove useful.

Thank you Funerium. Most of my works on display here have been made using the Funky Flames method - it gives a very wide range of cool effects depending on what variations you use in various combinations. I'm finding my fave results by using mostly the Spherical and Horseshoe variations, but Sinusoidal gives some really interesting cosmic constellation effects - try different ones to see what pleases you the most, and don't forget to fiddle with the triangles in the editor window for fine-tune tweaking...

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hmm, that cosmic constellation method sounds interesting. I have this one thing I tend to use alot while creating stuff for spacemanips, but still, itΒ΄s a bit random. Would be cool to find some more efficiant method. Will certainly give that a go, need to find some sparetime for the experimenting first though.

You'll love the effects from using the Sinusoidal variation on the Funky Flames base... would make some really cool space compositions... I can't wait to see what you can come up with in that vein!

I did the base finally last night, the testrender I left the computer to do while I slept didnΒ΄t turn out so great though, but still, the method has tons of potential. Will need to experiment more though, and fool around with the editor a bit. Thanks a lot for the tut, IΒ΄m positive itΒ΄ll prove useful after seeing some fractals apophysis threw to me while I did some testing.

Wrist is now castless... YAY!! Got a support bandage and a brace on it - and instructions to be VERY careful. It's only 5 days since the surgery. I had to convince the doc to take it off... lol!

How are things with you?
