Description Out of the many new ways Elzdrek had traveled, she found that being carried in a leathery talon to be one of the most unpleasant. For one thing, it was painful. For another, it meant (at least in this scenario) that she was about to be eaten. And while Elzdrek would normally kill any creature that showed this level of arrogance, right now it had done her a favor; it had saved her from her opponent, who was about to bash her into a tasty pulp.

"I suppose I owe you, creature. As such, I'm not going to kill you. That would be uncivilized. So, um, I guess, thanks?" Elzdrek felt ridiculous. It wasn't like the leathery thing was going to reply. So far, none of the things she had met had been intelligent, and she was getting somewhat lonely. I wish I had a follower right now…

Elzdrek shook herself. She had business to attend to. First and foremost, she had to free herself. Secondly, she had to concoct a plan to kill her opponent. And thirdly, she had to pull of said plan. Things were not looking good. Oh well, one step at a time.

Elzdrek opened and closed her mouth a few times, feeling the saliva well up. She quickly bit down on one of the creature's talons, feeling satisfied as she felt the skin and bone turn to mush. The creature holding her screamed, talon unclasping with the sudden pain. Elzdrek smiled, watching the ground rush up to meet her. In her larger forms, impacts had never harmed her. And while she may be more fragile in her human form, she weighed less. Surly she would be  okay. This places gravity was even lighter than her own! Nothing to worry about. So why do I feel nervous? Surly this form's instincts must be wrong. As the ground grew closer, Elzdrek resisted the urge to flap her arms. That would be ridiculous.

And then, all of the sudden, Elzdrek boinged. Gasping, she opened her eyes, not aware that she had had closed them in the first place, and looked down at the thing below her. It appeared to be made entirely out of a an off white gelatinous substance. Elzdrek smiled, then bounced on the white thing.

"This is surprisingly fun!" She bounced some more, only stopping when she noticed that her clothes were burning. "Hey wait! What?" Elzdrek scooted off, looking offended. Her clothes were smoking, and completely worn out in most places. "Damnit! These were nice and soft!" She looked at the remains of fabric on her body. There wasn't much to see. "Okay, fine. I can deal with this. I'm okay. I can still win this, I can-" Elzdrek stopped mid-freak out, sensing a familiar presence. It couldn't be…

But it was! Elzdrek leaped into the undergrowth, panic attack completely forgotten. This smell! It could only be a-
A follower! Elzdrek burst through a thick patch of brambles, smiling broadly at the sight before her. One of her followers, here! In the middle of her competition, no less!

"Follower! Wonderful devoted one! Now I am sure to win!" Elzdrek ran forward, anxious to confirm the beast's existence. At the sound of her voice, the Hound craned its neck up, studying her solemnly. Immediately, Elzdrek felt the mental connection. She looked up, starry-eyed and prepared to congratulate the hound on its extraordinary devotion, when it disappeared.

Elzdrek blinked.

What. Was. That? Did my own follower just LEAVE ME?! This is insulting. I have never- oh just wait, I cannot- ARG, follower, you will pay for this… Elzdrek entertained thoughts of dismemberment and insubordination for a few moments, wishing the follower all sorts of ill will. This kind of thing was unfair, uncalled for, and all together unsatisfactory. She tried her mental connection with the betrayer. Once her followers left for another place or time, Elzdrek could no longer feel their presence, but right now she was angry enough to try. She concentrated, and felt surprised as she picked up a dim buzzing. Her apprehension turned to horror however, as she realized what the tinny sound meant.

"Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no. No no no no nononononono NO! Shit!" She backed up, trying to sever the connection, but it was to late. The air swarmed with followers, all of them trying to smell her and examine her, checking for damage. "No, shoo, out of here! You heard me, scram! Leave now! You are not wanted!" Elzdrek screeched, franticly swatting the air around her, trying to shove off the countless hounds that sniffed and prodded her body.

This isn't going anywhere. I won't be able to do anything with these… Nuisances everywhere. Elzdrek breathed deeply. This would take a lot of willpower.

  The Hounds stopped, and Elzdrek would feel their confusion and hurt. < That is IT.   EVERYBODY OUT.   I am DEAD SERIOUS.> One by one, the hounds gave a mournful wail as they teleported out of existence. There, that should take care of-

One of her followers had stayed. Elzdrek was surprised. Never had one disobeyed an order from her before.
The hound remained, and Elzdrek was startled to feel defiance in the link. She was even more surprised when she noticed how weak said link was.

"You're in a different time, aren't you?" She waited. A split second longer than it would take for a normal reply to register, the follower turned its head towards her, waiting. "Well, then." Elzdrek smiled. "You should be rewarded. From now on, you are Most Devoted Follower!"

Most Devoted Follower didn't seem very exited by its sudden promotion. It simply sniffed the air, perhaps still apprehensive of its god's earlier rage. Elzdrek couldn't blame it. She was frightening.

Most Devoted Follower was silent. Perhaps because it couldn't understand her. Alas, Elzdrek was going to have to formulate alone. Sighing, she reached into the tattered remains of her pants pocket, reaching for her cigarettes and lighter. The smoke reminded her that she had, at one point, been an all powerful being and not a stupid human in a stupid jungle. She was not a human.

Elzdrek blinked. Before she had been summoned to compete in this contest, she had spent a short period in the human world, trying to understand why the pathetic creatures were so interesting. When she was there, she had learned that humans had a certain weakness. Surly it would carry over into her and her opponents forms?

"Get ready, Most Devoted Follower. I have a plan."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maghendan stomped through the jungle, feeling angry. He had killed his opponent, hadn't he? She had been swept up by some flying thing to be devoured, right? Shouldn't he have been taken out of this moronic place and this pathetic form? Unless that fucking judge was going to keep him prisoner until Maghendan got him a fucking elephant. Maghendan glowered at a large creature watching him sedately, almost wishing it would charge him so he could beat it senseless. He listened to its benign snorting, then turned as a rustling sound from behind grew more apparent. He shifted the grip on his BIG DAMN WRENCH when his sadly still breathing opponent came into view.
"Hello, Mr. Maghendan. I'd like to talk."
