Description In the scorching desert of Tatooine, Ahsoka Tano found herself in her most daunting predicament yet.
The Rebel Alliance had recently received word that one of their contacts came across vital intel on the desert planet; naturally, Ahsoka offered to meet up with the contact and verify their findings. Ignoring the barren world's connection to her former Master, Ahsoka steeled herself as she discreetly landed in the Mos Espa Spaceport, hiding her appearance behind a thick cloak as she walked through the bustling streets. Ahsoka kept her eyes peeled for any signs of the Rebel contact, keeping her Force senses on high alert all the while. As she continued walking, she felt a hand tug at the end of her cloak. Ahsoka instinctively kept her hands above her lightsabers in the event of a fight, as she turned to see a haggard Nautolan staring at her with a glazed expression.
"Spare some credits?" asked the Nautolan beggar.
Ahsoka's lips twitched as every fiber in her being told her to keep moving, but she could never turn a blind eye to those in need. She reached into her pocket and offered the Nautolan a few credits.
"Here. Hopefully this'll help you for a while," Ahsoka stated.
The beggar gave a thankful smile. "Oh, I think it will. But I can think of something worth much more..."
"What're you-?" Before Ahsoka could even finish, the Nautolan lunged forward and yanked her cloak off, exposing her true identity for all to see.
"It's her! The ex-Jedi with the Rebels!" shouted the Nautolan as he pointed a blaster at her face.
Ahsoka's instincts took full control as she used her lightsaber to slice off the phony beggar's hand holding the blaster. Several bystanders fled the scene in a panic, while a few hooded goons whipped out their own blasters and opened fire. Ahsoka effortlessly deflected the barrage of blaster bolts with her twin sabers, but she was so preoccupied with defending herself that she didn't notice the attack coming from behind her. The former Jedi felt something sharp pierce into both her shoulders, which instantly caused her senses to dull. She quickly turned her head and realized too late that she'd been struck with a few tranquilizer darts. Ahsoka glanced over and saw a Rodian holding a tranq gun with a smug grin. She reached out with the Force to retaliate, but her elbows and knees buckled and she collapsed onto the ground. The Rodian sauntered forward and crouched down to stare right into Ahsoka's angry eyes.
"Don't bother fighting it, hot stuff. These darts were designed to tame a raging gundark. I bet it'll keep you nice and quiet for as long as we need," the Rodian assailant taunted.
"G-Go jump off a cliff, sleemo..." Ahsoka slurred as her body felt lighter with each passing second.
"Hmph. You won't be so feisty once we're through with you, Rebel." the Rodian snapped his fingers. "Bag her up and let's get out of here before someone sees!"
Ahsoka could numbly make out a few rough hands grabbing her and tying her up with rope, before she finally passed out from the darts' effects.

The twin suns of Tatooine began to set in the distance, as the skies were filled with raucous cheers. Several onlookers filled the seats of an abandoned podracing ring, consisting of various drifters, gang leaders, off-world merchants, and even a few crime bosses. The crowd's shouts rose in volume as they demanded for the auction to get started. After a few tense minutes, a scrawny Rodian strolled out onto the podium in the center of the ring.
"Welcome, everyone!" the Rodian jovially greeted. "My name is Greedo, and it's my honor to welcome you all to this splendid occasion!"
Greedo's introduction was met with both resounding applause and impatient curses.
"For tonight's auction, we have a very special surprise in store for you! I hope you have enough credits stuffed in those pockets, because it's not often a gorgeous Togruta graces these coarse sands with such stunning beauty."
As if on cue, a Nikto and a one-armed Nautolan dragged Ahsoka out onto the podium. She was stripped of both her weapons and her usual attire, and was dressed in a very-revealing turquoise bikini. A thick veil was shrouded over her mouth to hide the tight gag secured on her lips, and both her hands were shackled behind her back to cut off her Force abilities. As Ahsoka was paraded onto the podium, sweat pouring down her exposed body, she was instantly met with lustful stares and wild cheers. Her ocean-blue eyes were filled with defiance, but a hint of uncertainty crept into her features as she took in the faces of those who would determine her fate. She struggled a bit to find some slack in her restraints, but her movements only excited the crowd of auctioneers even more.
"Isn't she quite the looker, folks?" Greedo inclined his head at the bound-and-gagged Ahsoka. "Not only is this one rumored to have close ties with the Rebels, but..." he paused for dramatic effect, before holding her procured lightsabers high in the air. "She's also a karking Jedi! And we all have such fond memories of Jedi on our planet, don't we?"
The crowd's shouts became even more ear-deafening, with some rugged goons glaring hatefully at Ahsoka, who only rolled her eyes at the pathetic attempt at breaking her spirits. Once she managed to free herself, she vowed to herself that Greedo would be the first of her captors to feel her wrath.
Greedo walked over to Ahsoka and pulled her close. "She's the whole package, folks! A good fighter, Jedi scum, a Rebel informant, and..." he yanked hard against one of her lekku. "Yes, she's single."
Ahsoka whirled around and kicked Greedo right in his shin, causing him to double over on the podium. Mocking laughter and disdainful shouts filled the podracing ring as Greedo groaned in pain, while Ahsoka's guards forced her onto her knees.
"Don't test our patience, little Jedi," hissed the Nautolan whose arm Ahsoka sliced off earlier. "Or else you can forget about getting a new master, since we'll just keep you to ourselves. And I'm quite hoping for the second option to come true."
The amputated Nautolan bared his sharp teeth, but Ahsoka wasn't fazed in the slightest. A torrent of insults and snippy comebacks surged in Ahsoka's chest (especially the clarification that she hadn't been a Jedi for a while), but unfortunately for her, her gag only allowed for a series of fierce growls.
Greedo limped back onto his feet as he shot a glare at Ahsoka. "Well... let's not drag this out any longer, shall we?" he winced as he tried hiding his pain behind a businesslike smile. "Let's start hearing those bids! Who among you will be the lucky soul to take this extravagant beauty home with you tonight?"
A Nikto biker shot his hand up. "One-thousand credits!"
"Four-thousand credits!" yelled a male Twi'lek with an eyepatch.
"Sold to the one-eyed tendril-head!" Greedo affirmed. "Do I hear any higher bids? Going once, going twice-!"
"Eight-thousand credits!" shouted a female Zabrak.
"Ten-thousand!" a Mon Calamari hollered.
"No, twelve-thousand!"
"Fourteen-thousand!!"
As the bids soared higher among the crowds, Ahsoka felt her spirits sink lower and lower. Despite the dozens of leers and insults aimed her way, she refused to give into despair, drawing strength from the calming techniques from her earliest Jedi training. Even though each offer only made her plight seem more hopeless, Ahsoka was already figuring out how to overpower whoever it was that she would eventually be sold to. The very thought of being treated like merchandise brought back very unpleasant memories of Zygerria, along with her former mentor who just happened to be from this very planet.
More auctioners announced even higher bids, each one eager to possess the rare and valuable prize that stood before them. But right as one burly Aqualish started to announce his bid, one voice rang out clearly among the unruly chorus.
"One million Imperial credits."
The silence in the ring was deafening. Ahsoka and the crowd of auctioneers turned to see a lithe figure dressed in black Inquisitor armor boldly saunter onto the podium. As the newcomer stepped closer, Ahsoka couldn't help but notice something familiar about this woman...
"Hold it, lady! Imps don't have any business here!" the one-armed Nautolan retorted. "Besides, this Jedi owes me an arm! So why don't you-?"
The Inquisitor's red lightsaber blade sliced the Nautolan's head clean off his shoulders. The crowd gasped in horror as the decapitated Nautolan collapsed onto the podium, while the Inquisitor wordlessly leaned closer to Greedo, her lightsaber clutched tightly in her gloved hand.
"Uh-I-um-that-one million it is!" Greedo stuttered as he nervously backed away. "S-She's all yours! Uh, w-when can I expect the credits to be wired to my account?"
The Inquisitor tilted her head at him. "You can either leave now, or you can join your friend over here and not get paid at all." she pointed her lightsaber blade at the Nautolan's corpse.
Getting the message loud and clear, Greedo sprinted off to the nearest exit. The rest of the crowd booked it out of the ring shortly after, not wanting to get on the Empire's bad side. Once the ring was completely deserted, the Inquisitor knelt next to Ahsoka and held a hand on her shoulder.
"I would say it's nice to see you again, Ahsoka, but I suppose our opposing factions prevent such formalities."
"Humph?" Ahsoka cocked her head at the Inquisitor's familiarity with her.
The Imperial woman chuckled. "Has it really been so long that you've already forgotten me? Well, I guess shouldn't blame you, since I landed you in a very similar predicament back on Coruscant."
Ahsoka's eyes bulged as everything clicked together in her head.
Barriss?!
Ahsoka grunted behind her gag as she wriggled to free herself, to get a single chance to pounce on her former friend. But Barriss merely grabbed her chin and forced her to make eye contact with her.
"Such fire and resolve. You haven't changed a bit since we last met, have you?" Barriss grinned.
"Whht arhh yhuu dhhing hrrhh??" Ahsoka demanded.
"Saving you. But I suppose this isn't much different from the fate you were about to be subjected to."
Ahsoka growled indignantly behind her sealed lips as she resumed her struggling.
"In case you hadn't already pieced it together, I was the one who contacted your Rebel allies. I managed to kill your contact and hoped to draw some of your friends into a trap. But never did I expect to see an old friend..." Barriss traced a finger on Ahsoka's exposed thigh. "In such an alluring state, might I add."
In her rage, Ahsoka tried to headbutt Barriss, but the Jedi-turned-Inquisitor simply dodged the attack and pulled Ahsoka's head back by her lekku.
"Save your energy, Ahsoka. The Empire will have questions for you regarding your Rebel comrades. But..." she pulled Ahsoka closer. "I have some of my own questions I'd like to ask you first... Plus, it wouldn't hurt for us to catch up with one another, would it?" she traced her fingers dangerously close to Ahsoka's midriff.
Ahsoka fumed in her restraints as Barriss hoisted her onto her feet and started marching her out of the podracing ring with her lightsaber.
"Start moving, Ahsoka. We have a long way to my ship and some exercise will do you some good. Helps you build up even more of a sweat than you already have." Barriss smirked. "And it'll send quite the message to the people of Tatooine who your new Master is."
Sensing her lack of options, Ahsoka swallowed what little pride she had left and trudged out of the podium and through the streets of Mos Espa, with Barriss trailing right behind her. Ahsoka sighed as she got even more uncomfortable stares from several bystanders, who were wise enough not to interfere with an Inquisitor's business. As Barriss continued escorting her to her ship, Ahsoka's mind was alight with fantasies of revenge and escape. She swore on every star in the galaxy to make Barriss pay for the long and humiliating ordeal she was forced to endure. She simply needed to bide her time and find an opening to make her move.
But Ahsoka couldn't help but wonder how much time would pass in her new role as Barriss' personal slave... Now she was really starting to see why Anakin hated this place so much.
