Uta x Reader: I'm not short.

You look at the words that say HySy mask studio.
It has been over a month since you were last in the art studio, since you had to go on a small trip for your job. You had meet the mask maker because of your interest in masks, and from there you two became fast friends, and the fact that you were both ghouls made it better, and whenever you had free time yo would go see Uta and help him design and make masks.
Now that your back and you can spend some time with your friend *cough*crush*cough* Uta.

You open the door and walk in searching for Uta.

"Uta~kun" you sang "I'm back."

You looked around but he was nowhere to be seen.
'hmm, that's weird. Where is he?' you thought.
"Uta-kun, where are you?" you asked, as you waked towards a small table with something on it covered by a white cloth.
"Uta?"
You lifted up the white cloth.
Under it was a mannequin, with a mask on its face.
You drop the cloth so it covers the mask again and turn around.

Then suddenly...

"Boo."

"AAAAAAAH!" you screamed, as you came face to face with the mask maker, with his face only a few centre meters away from yours, eyes staring straight at yours.

"UTA! DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT!" You yelled.
"But your reaction was funny, (Y/N)-chan." He smiled.

You just sighed in reply and shook you head.

"Ahh, (Y/N)-chan, I see you haven't grown any taller in the time you've been away. Your just as short as ever." Uta teased.
"S-Shut up, I'm not short! I'm average height, your just tall." you moped. You admit you weren't tall, but you were basically almost average height. And it doesn't help that he is about a head taller than you.

Uta had always loved teasing you about your height whenever he got the chance. It was probably one of his favorite things to do to pass the time, and it wouldn't surprise you if it was.

"Is bullying me about my height one of your favorite things to pass the time or something." You stated rhetorically.
"Yes, it is actually, it's in my top 10 things to do." Uta replied.

Why are you not surprised you guessed correctly.

"And I wouldn't call it 'bullying', I'd call it more 'teasing to get a cute reaction'." Uta stated calmly, not showing any change in expression.
Where as you, on the other hand, started to blush from his words.
"Just like that." Uta continued.
"Sh-shut up." you stuttered, with a blush still evident on your face. "A-anyway, it's been like a month, what have you been up too?" You asked, to attempt to change the subject.
"The usual." Uta replied, walking over to his work bench and grabbing a tape measure, walking over to you again and holding one end and dropping the other end to the ground right beside you.

"I was right, you really haven't grown at all." Uta spoke calmly.
"Shut up! I have grown, it's just a small amount." You yelled back at him.
"Hmmm, well the only part of you that has grown looks to be you chest." He said.
"YOU PERVERT!" you screamed as your face went completely red.
"I was joking... Kind of." Uta laughed.
Before you could say anything back he quickly added "(Y/N)-chan, let's go get some coffee. It has been a while, then we can make some masks afterward." completely changing the subject.
"Ok, let's go." you smiled at him, deciding to drop the subject, as you both walked out down to Anteiku to get some coffee.

On your way down, you both saw a huge crowd of people gathered watching something, and your curiosity go the better of you, so you were curious to know what was going on.

"Hey Uta-kun, let's check it out." You said, dragging him over towards the large crowd.

But there was one problem.
You couldn't see anything. Everyone in front of you were taller than you.
So you were jumping up and down to at least try and see what was going on, but you still couldn't really tell what was happening.
"(Y/N)-chan, maybe if you grew a little you could see whats happening." Uta joked.
"Stop it with the short jokes!" you snapped.
"Alright (Y/N)-chan, I'll shorten the amount of jokes I'll say about your height." Uta smirked as he looked at you, emphasizing the word 'shorten'.

God dammit, has he thought out all these short puns just to use on you?
Probably.

Then Uta did something you didn't expect.
He picked you up, so he was holding you like someone would a child, with his arms supporting you and your body against his chest.
And now, with him holding you, you were about a head taller than him.
And you could now see what what is going on.
There was a bunch of small, adorable animals, doing tricks. Like a mini animal circus out in public.

"Awww, their so cute~~" You squealed. "Thank you Uta-kun." you said as you hugged his head (which was the only part of him you could hug properly while he was holding you)
"No worries (Y/N)-chan" He said "And seems like I was right about your chest." He added.

For a moment you were confused, but then you realized, you are hugging his head, ultimately pushing his head into your boobs.

"PERVERT!" you whisper yelled, so those around you wouldn't get the wrong idea and stare weirdly at you, and also not draw attention to yourselves as you were both ghouls.
As you said that you pushed him back a bit, causing you to fall backwards.
You closed your eyes, expecting to hit the concrete below, but instead, two strong arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you into a well toned chest.

"You should be more careful (Y/N)-chan." Uta said.
You blushed from how close you two were and the fact he was now embracing you.
"Now, let's get going to Anteiku." He said.
You nodded and reluctantly pulled away from him, and continues on your way to Anteiku.

As you enter Anteiku you see that the are a few customers there already, some are ghouls some are human, but there was one human there that looked suspicious.
'he could be a dove.' you thought.

As the both of you sat down, the person you thought might be a dove got up and left.

Touka and Kaneki then came over to the both of you.

"Hello (Y/N)-San, hello Uta-San." Kaneki greeted.
"Hello, kaneki." You and Uta both greeted back.

"You two, that guy that just walked out is a ghoul investigator, he has been here basically all day, and he will probably be back here in a minute or so, so one of you should pretend to eat some human food." Touka informed.

You glanced at Uta.
You know he never ate food to blend in, so you decide you would eat something.

"I'll get something, if he comes back." You said.
Touka nodded.

Then as if on que, the investigator walked in with someone else, and just to be a pain, sat on a table close to you and Uta.
Kaneki decide to go and serve the investigators, while Touka served you and Uta.
"Now, what can I get for you today?" Touka asked.
"Just coffee for me." Uta replied.
You then noticed one of the investigators looked directly at him, as if examining him.
"I'll also have some coffee too. And ummm, what sweets would you suggest to have with coffee." you asked Touka, trying to act like you were interested in 'normal' food.
"Well, we have some cupcakes that have been selling rather well, would you like one of those?" Touka asked.
"Yes, I'll get a (F/F) with (F/F) icing, please." you reluctantly said.
Touka gave you a sympathetic smile and nodded, and went to collect your orders.

While you waited, you talked to Uta about what you both had done the past month you didn't see each other, whilst trying to not make the doves suspicious about you both being ghouls.

"You know (Y/N)-chan, this could be counted as a date." Uta said, like the thought just occurred to him.
"W-Wh-what a-a d-date!?" you stuttered, a blush now evident on your cheeks.
"How cute." Uta said, still using his neutral expression.
"Sh-shut up." you said looking away.

Then Touka arrived with the cupcake and coffees.

You and Uta both continues to talk, and the doves made no sign of going anywhere, just watching you and Uta.

Damn looks like your going to have to eat it.
You pick up the cupcake and take a small bite out of it.
'It's disgusting' you thought, trying not to gag or throw up.
"Ahh, it's delicious." you said, as happy as possible, which was extremely difficult to do.
"That's good to hear." Uta said. You knew he felt sorry for you having to eat it, but you knew that if you didn't, it may lead to complications with the investigators later on.
You tried to finish the cupcake as quickly as possible, while trying to make it look like you weren't rushing. As you finished the last piece, you sipped *cough*skulled*cough* your coffee to get rid of the taste.

"Well, shall we go?" you asked Uta, wanting to leave as soon as possible to you can go throw up.
"Wait a second, you have some icing on your face." Uta said, as he slowly leaned in and licked the icing off the corner of your mouth.
Your face turned completely red.
"U-Uta."
You were at a loss for words. You raised your hand up to where he licked you, still feeling the warmth of his tongue on the edge of you lip.
"Your right it does taste good." Uta said. Saying it loud enough so the investigators heard it, but while they weren't looking he wiped his tongue with his hand to get rid of the icing, and tried not to be sick at the taste of it.
"Let's go (Y/N)-chan." Uta said.
You nodded and left Anteiku, leaving the investigators thinking you two were just a regular couple, and headed back to his studio to make some masks.

As soon as you got back, you ran to the bathroom to throw up.

As you walked back to Uta, he held out an eye ball for you to eat.
"Here, to get taste of that stuff out of your mouth." Uta said while eating another one.
"Thanks." you replied as you ate it slowly.

'It tastes so much better than that stupid cupcake' you thought to yourself as you finished it.
"Hey Uta, can I have another, please?" you asked politely.
Uta then stood up.
"Sure (Y/N)-chan... if you can reach." Uta smirked has he lifted an eye ball above his head.
"What! That is so unfair." You complain.
"Ahh, I forgot you're short." Uta joked.
You shot him a small glare.
"Just because I'm short doesn't mean I can't get it!" You spoke without thinking.
"So you admit your short, (Y/N)-chan." He smirked, lowering his hand with the eye.

Well fuck. You just called yourself the one thing you hated being called.

"N-No. I'm not short, your just tall is all!" You retorted, trying to grab the snack he held between his fingers. But he was quicker and raised his arm up again out of your reach.
"Just keep telling yourself that (Y/N)-chan."

For the next minute or so, you were jumping up and down, trying to grab the treat. You even tried grabbing his arm and pulling it down, but that hardly phased him.

Then you just gave up and pouted.
"Uta-kun, please just give me it." You asked, with a light blush covering your face.
"Ahh, maybe I'll just eat it myself, since (Y/N)-chan couldn't take it from me." Uta said to himself, as he opened his mouth and put the delicious treat between his lips.
"No~ Uta-kun~" You whined.

Then he did something you didn't expect.
He leaned in close to you and connected his lips to yours, in a soft kiss. Then taking a bite out of half of the eye, leaving you with the other half.

Your eyes widened as you absentmindedly at it. A blush now becoming more prominent on you cheeks.

"You taste better when you eat this, rather than that cupcake." Uta said.

You blush just got a lot darker than it was before.

"Wh-Wh-what." You stuttered, not knowing what to say.

"Your so cute (Y/N)-chan." Uta smirked at you. Slowing moving closer and enveloping you in a hug.
You could feel his cheek rub against your head.
"Sh-shut up, stupid pervert." You mumbled, wrapping your arms around him, also mumbling a small "I love you".
"I love you too, (Y/N)-chan, you and your shortness." Uta joked.
"JUST BECAUSE I LOVE YOU DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN CALL ME SHORT!" You yelled at him.
"But you being short is what helps make you cute (Y/N)-chan." Uta smirked.
And before you could any anything back, his lips connected with yours in a warm and passionate kiss.
As you separated for air, you turned your head, facing away for him, with a scarlet blush staining your face.
"I'm not short... I... I'm just a bit below average height." You admitted.
Uta then gave you a quick peck on the lips, and held your hand as you both went over to start on making some more masks, like what the both of you were originally planning.
