Description
Independant Project for my drawing class - she wanted me to push the media we had used and use plenty of experimental media so...Self Modification:
Left face - painted entirely with makeup and makeup tools - yes the lips are different coloured lipsticks blended together even (*gawsh!*)
Middle is composed of media samples about beauty, cosmetic surgery etc, glued, stitched and bandaged together (experimental media again)
Right face is charcoal with markers and wax (for the eyebrows)
All this was painted/drawn/applied to a large sheet of wallpaper
(yeah I went nuts with imbued symbolism)

Note: Everything that is there, and not there, is there (or not) for a very good reason, this was one of the most thought-out pieces I have ever made - My tutor really liked it so Im happy, do you?

WONDERFUL! So full of truth to, at least the truth for many, it funny how most are never really happy with who they are or how they look, are we as humans really that far off from this. The ample supply media for the piece suggests not. Great work m8!

earthy colors.. cant get the idea of the northern territory out of my mind, which then relates to aborigines.. and how deformed they look compared to small typical white children :<
oh, and michael jackson of course.
that probably bares no relevance to the piece though, which is very nice.

Absolutely love it - the concepts are fab, and you pulled it off brilliantly. I don't think these shots do the real piece justice though; I'm going to have a closer look at it next time I'm at your place.
