Kusalitiwa was lying out in the fields with Usalama. It was pretty dark, and with the small amount of moonlight there was, Kusalitiwa’s growing bump was hidden.

”Kuzi, I know it has been only a few weeks since the trial started, but has Mbakaji been exiled yet?”

Kusalitiwa sighed, “No, Usalama. We are still trying to figure out most of the happenings,” she started, “We also need to get more key witnesses to step out about what happened.”

Usalama growled, “Your father needs to hurry and just finish this trial! Yes, it’s Mbakaji’s fault for assaulting a lioness like that, but the lioness in question is also at fault! She had no business parading around him if she wanted nothing to do with him!”

Kusalitiwa sat up, the sheer audacity of what she just heard was enough to get her fuming, “Say you’re joking,” Kusalitiwa said over a silent growl, “Tell me I didn’t hear you just say what you did.”

Usalama groaned and rolled his eyes, “I do not take back what I said. What lioness in her right mind thinks it’s ok to make a false statement like that?”

“You utter fool!” Kusalitiwa roared, “You should not be putting any input where it isn’t asked for!”

”I am a prince! This is not a situation I should be left out of!”

”Oh! Well I’m sorry your majesty! I suppose you forget whose presence you’re in!” Kusalitiwa said as she grew more enraged.

”Well since I am obviously out of the loop, what the hell is taking your father so long to just exile the ‘abuser’ and her skank?!”

Kusalitiwa pounced on Usalama, “My father has another lion in custody that was there when the abuse happened!” She roared. Usalama was about to open his mouth to say more, but Kusalitiwa continued, “You are SO very dense and FULL of yourself that you don’t even notice what is wrong with your ‘mate’! I was ATTACKED a few weeks ago! I’m sorry to tell you but the ‘skank’ just so happens to be the lioness you say you love so much! The one you would protect whenever she were i trouble!”

Kusalitiwa gets off of Usalama and lies down again facing him, “I am going to leave in a few minutes while I catch my breath. Consider this relationship null and void. I want nothing more to do with you or your pride.”

Usalama stands up, “Kuzi, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that, please… I don’t want to lose you,” he said through the start of hyperventilation, “Please reconsider! I’m sorry!”

Kusalitiwa growls, “As of today, I, Princess Kusalitiwa of the Ndona Pridelands, hereby exile you! You are no longer welcome in the Pridelands.”

”No,” Usalama says through tears, “you can’t do that! You don’t have the rank to do that!”

”As the heir of the throne, I am able to make any law I deem necessary in the absence of a viable queen. I want you gone from the Pridelands. End of Discussion!”

Usalama starts walking away from the Pridelands with sorrow in his heart. He says he lost the one lion he cared for most, but what he lost and won’t admit to, is losing his puppet and only key to a conceivable guaranteed throne.

What a jerk. Good riddance Usalama. This is something that will not be seen in the comics to make it easier with the flow of the story. Kuzi will end up having two cubs in this story. Something I ended up learning about the pregnancy of a lioness is that the cubs could be fathered by more than one lion. You’ll never guess who is fathering which cub.
