Description Warriors: A Deadly Rivalry
Prologue

Lighting flashed in the sky causing the trees and rocks in the forest to flash silver. Within the bushes, eyes shone brightly glowing with hostility. A black and white tom led one group. A silver tabby tom led the other group. A small tortoiseshell tom shifted in the bushes alongside his sister. His sister was crouched beside him, her tortoiseshell fur glowing in the moonlight, "Don't worry Blazepaw, we'll win." Blazepaw glanced at his sister, "Mistpaw, how many more battles are we going to have to fight with Duskclan? This is the third time this moon." The black and white tom, their leader, Coalstar turned on him, gaze glowing with a hunger to win, "As many battles as it takes until Rainstar gets it through his fox-hearted mind that we are the better clan." Coalstar turned his angry glare on Rainstar and the other cats of Duskclan, "Iceclan ATTACK!!"

The entire clearing was now filled with angry cats clawing and biting at one another. Rain began to pour down into the hollow. Blazepaw could make out Coalstar clawing at Rainstar. Suddenly an enormous tom hurtled himself at Blazepaw, who lost sight of his sister in the fray of cats. He looked up to see Foxpelt, a senior warrior of Duskclan leering down at him. Blazepaw stretched his claws at the tom's face scratching his huge muzzle. Foxpelt screeched and clawed at Blazeheart, one enormous claw scored down his shoulder. Blood pooled from the deep wound. Blazepaw yowled out in pain, Foxpelt raised a paw again, claws unsheathed.

Iceclan's deputy, Frostpelt threw herself at Foxpelt, "Coward! Attacking an apprentice!" The two warriors rolled away. Blazepaw stood up, pain shooting through his shoulder. Coalstar was now fighting Duskclan's deputy. Where did Rainstar go? Blazepaw scanned through the group of fighting cats. He finally discovered the large gray tabby, he was leering over a smaller cat, but Blazepaw couldn't tell who it was. Suddenly, he was pounced on by another Duskclan warrior. This cat was a large gray tom with white patches, Silverfang. He was a younger warrior, but he was a great fighter. Blazepaw kicked his hind claws at Silverfang's belly. The tom would not budge. Silverfang began clawing at the wounded apprentice.

From beyond Silverfang, Blazepaw made out the tortoiseshell pelt of his sister, Mistpaw, Right over her growling at her, was Rainstar. Mistpaw hissed, clawing at his muzzle. Rainstar grabbed her by the back and shook her around like a kit playing with prey. Blazepaw struggled under Silverfang, wanting to help his sister, but the tom was too heavy, clawing at Blazepaw's face.

Mistpaw struggled in the Duskclan leader's grip. She clawed at the bridge of his muzzle, leaving a large gash. Rainstar yowled something to her that Blazepaw could not hear, due to the sneering of Silverfang as he clawed at him. Rainstar threw Mistpaw to the ground. He unsheathed the claws on both forepaws, sat back on his hind paws, and scooped up Mistpaw with one clawed forepaw, he sheered his claws up Mistpaw's belly and up her throat, then sent her flying against the rocks, she rolled off the rocks into a deep and muddy ditch.

"NOOOO!!" Blazepaw clawed a deep gash into one of Silverfang's eyes, causing the tom to fall back on the ground. The little tortoiseshell apprentice charged through the bloody puddles toward Rainstar, claws unsheathed, but the tom had vanished, and Blazepaw had heard the yowl from Coalstar, "Iceclan, retreat!" Rainstar and Coalstar began to argue about how unfair the attack was. At this point, Blazepaw didn't care if it was fair. He charged up the rocks and slid into the ditch.

He searched through the muddy puddles and finally made out the dull muddy pelt of his sister. Blazepaw ran towards her. "Mistpaw!" Mistpaw's eyes were half opened. "Mistpaw! Get up! Coalstar says we have to retreat!" Blazepaw nudged her with his muzzle, attempting to get her on her paws. Mistpaw just slumped to the side and fell into the mud, her eyes still opened. They were clouded over and seemed to see nothing but the clouds. "Mistpaw? Did he blind you? What's wrong? Do you need me to get Sunflight?" Mistpaw's eyes remained rolled up to the sky, lighting flashed, illuminating her dull pelt. Coalstar slid into the ditch, alongside Sunflight. "Mistpaw? Mistpaw please. Sunflight what's wrong with her? Why won't she answer me? Why won't she get up?" Sunflight's gaze darkened with sadness after she scanned her body, "She's dead Blazepaw." The earth seemed to dip under him. "No! She can't be! She's the only family I have left! She can't die!" Other warriors peered into the ditch, only Blazepaw's mentor, Graytail slid into the ditch and rested his tail onto Blazepaw's unwounded shoulder, "I'm sorry Blazepaw." Coalstar's gaze was glowing with fury, "Blazepaw, did you see what cat did this?" Blazepaw shivered from the cold wind, he put a paw on Mistpaw's cooling body. " I- It was Rainstar." A growl rumbled in Coalstar's throat, "Rainstar! You fox-hearted snake!" The leader screeched this to the sky. Coalstar dipped his head and picked up Mistpaw by the scruff. He led the rest of Iceclan out of the ditch and back to camp.
