By the way, I'm curious...do you still draw comics on standard A4 paper?

comic pages, nope.
I draw on the comic boards suplied by UDON, so that i could eventually sell them (they look much better than ordinary A4 printer paper)
HOWEVER i still draw on A4 paper for everything else.

Ah, kind of figured that. I remember that you used to draw on A4 for everything. I was wondering if you had any trouble adapting to the larger paper size...I know it's been quite a while since you've made the switch.

ahhh, in all honesty, not so much.
however, drawing a single character on one comic board is still strange.
like almost too much open space, and w/ my open lined style and lack of lineweight/shading, it almost feels odd.
but yeah, it feels the same, and if anything now I have more freedom of space.

Always wanted to know how you get your highlights to get that effect of real light and not just a lighter color... Is it something with the layer effects? Don't think I'm making much sense here...

they're fun and you might be surprised w/ the outcome after some experimenting.
