Description
The Light-Ray mk. 4
History: The Light-Ray is essentially Dr. Light’s ‘pope mobile’, the vehicle he uses to fly about the city and wave to his adoring fans, or dish out a bit of personal justice. Though, in recent years he hasn’t actually been going out with it at all, just sending it to various locations or on various routes to remind the populous of his presence and unwavering control over them. However, it’s worth noting that the good doctor does not do this out of fear or even boredom, he’s working on something in his tower, something that will, undoubtedly be known as his greatest creation.
Abilities:
Bomb Toss- Dr. Light tosses a timed bomb from his cockpit (all bombs and mines can be ‘activated’ or set off by shooting them from a safe distance).
Large Bomb Toss- Dr. Light randomly tosses out a much larger bomb with a shorter fuse and a much wider blast radius.
Giant Missile- Dr. Light shifts into the background and fires a large missile at the foreground, creating an explosion that consumes half of the screen.
Missile Rain- Dr. Light fires a dozen missiles into the air, then, waits seven seconds before fading into the background while they rain down from above.
Halo Swat- Swings one of the Halo’s out from under the vehicle like a buzz-saw or throws it across the screen like a boomerang.
Halo Lock- Releases one of the Halo’s from under the vehicle and sends it bouncing across the field, if it makes contact with Bass it will lock him in place for five seconds.
Mine Drop- Randomly, Dr. Light will pass across the screen and leave two or three mines in his wake as he goes, they will remain in place until activated or destroyed.
Crusher Cannon- Dr. Light either parks on one side of the screen and sends a heavily damaging beam of energy across the field, or fade into the background before sending several random blasts into the foreground.
Phase 1- Dr. Light won’t take the fight seriously at first, only tossing out bombs and mines, resorting only to using the Crusher Cannon from the sides of the screen, and using the Halo’s to swat at Bass whenever he gets close.
Phase 2- After depleting his first health bar, Dr. Light will finally get serious and use his full arsenal, also, every attack he used in the first phase, but faster.
Phase 3- After depleting his second health bar, Dr. Light ejects from the vehicle and uses it to ram Bass through the wall and out of his tower. Though Bass manages to recover and climb the outside wall to get back into the top floor, Dr. Light takes remote control of the Light-Ray and starts attacking him as they both fall through the air. During this phase there will not be a timer (you can climb up the wall and eventually reach the top floor, initiating an alternate cut-scene), but, you will fail if you allow Bass to fall low enough. In addition, all of the Light-Ray’s ‘background’ attacks will be disabled, but ‘missile rain’ will still be in operation, it will just hit the vehicle as likely as it will Bass.
