Description
Evil Bunny
Prologue:
In a world plagued by corporate greed and unethical experimentation, a sinister facility stood as a symbol of humanity's darkest impulses. Within its walls, innocent animals were cruelly confined, subjected to inhumane tests that shattered the bounds of morality and compassion. Yet, amidst this grim landscape, a glimmer of hope ignited.
In the depths of that facility, a unique creature, unlike any other, came into existence. Born from the secrets of the laboratory and exposed to perilous chemicals, it emerged from captivity possessing extraordinary abilities. This is the tale of its remarkable journey—a transformation from victim to hero—and the monumental challenges it encountered along the way.
Defying the very essence of its creation, this extraordinary being became a beacon of resilience, transcending its origins to champion justice and righteousness. With every stride, it confronted the shadows of the facility's grim legacy, dismantling the oppressive machinery of greed and exploitation. Its path was fraught with peril, its battles against oppression fierce and relentless.
Through unwavering determination, this unlikely hero embodied the enduring spirit of those held captive, fighting not only for its own liberation but also for the freedom of all beings who suffered within those walls. It became a symbol of hope and inspiration, reminding the world that even in the face of darkness, the light of compassion and courage can prevail.
Chapter 1
Hyperzyme
The laboratory was a sterile and imposing structure, surrounded by high fences and security cameras. Inside, researchers in lab coats bustled back and forth, attending to various experiments and tests on animals. Mice scurried in their cages, while rats gnawed on bits of food and shavings.
In one corner of the lab, a lone rabbit huddled in his wire cage, his nose twitching as he nibbled on some bland pellets. He had been living in this lab for as long as he could remember, subjected to various tests and procedures that he didn't understand.
Occasionally, a kind-hearted intern would visit him, offering bits of fresh lettuce and carrots, and speaking in a soft, reassuring voice. The rabbit would look up at her with his big, expressive eyes, grateful for the brief respite from his monotonous existence.
Despite the occasional moments of kindness, the rabbit knew that his life was not his own. He was a test subject, a mere tool for the researchers to use in their quest for knowledge and profit. His fate was entirely out of his control.
As the rabbit huddled in the corner of its cage, it couldn't help but cringe at the thought of the bland pellets and stagnant water that awaited it. It longed for something different, something fresh and tasty. As if on cue, the animal caretaker walked up to its enclosure, offering a small piece of lettuce and carrot. The rabbit gobbled it up happily, savoring the taste. The caretaker spoke softly to it, offering words of reassurance and comfort.
The lab was bustling with activity as researchers and scientists scurried about, running various tests on the animals. The veterinarian checked on each animal's health, while the product applier and remover applied and removed various substances. The results reporter and CEO monitored the progress of the experiments.
But among all the chaos and sterile environments, the caretaker stood out as the only one who seemed to genuinely care for the animals. She petted and talked to them, giving them affection that they were not accustomed to but responded kindly to nonetheless. The rabbit could sense that she was different from the other humans, more gentle and kind-hearted.
As the day drew to a close, the animal caretaker paused at the rabbit's enclosure. She scooped him up and cradled him in her arms, her gentle touch sending shivers of contentment through his small frame. The rabbit nuzzled against her palm as she whispered soothing words, the warmth of her body and the softness of her voice lulling him into a state of relaxation. Finally, she placed him back in his cage, tucking him in with fresh hay and water. The rabbit drifted off to sleep, his dreams filled with visions of a world where kindness and love were the norm.
The next day, the laboratory was filled with its usual activity as Bunny was picked up for testing. He was transported to a station where a new test cream was going to be applied to him. The main scientist, as well as the person that applies the make-up to Bunny, put on their gloves and masks. They took a tube of some cream and began to massage it into Bunny's skin. Bunny began to fidget and make a couple of complaining sounds as the cream had a burning sensation. However, they just held him down and rubbed it in, leaving it there for a good 15 minutes before washing it all off.
As the cream was being applied, the scientist writing down the results asked the person applying it, "Have you applied Hyperzyme before?" The person applying it replied, "No, this is the first time." The scientist continued, "Hyperzyme is known to cause mutations in DNA and RNA, resulting in physical and cognitive changes. We're expecting to see some interesting results with this test subject.
The next 15 minutes were excruciatingly painful for Bunny. While they were cleaning him off, they missed a little patch of the cream which remained on his skin. As they went to return him to his cage, Bunny fidgeted and kicked, knocking over the scientist that was holding him. He fell to the floor and began running around the laboratory like crazy, heading for a door that the friendly caretaker, with a slight twinkle in her eye, had left slightly ajar.
Bunny burst through the door and into the hallway, bouncing off the walls as he ran in one direction and then another. He was gradually picking up speed, much to the surprise of the scientists hot on his tail. Unbeknownst to him, he seemed to be getting faster. He zipped down one hallway and then another, gradually picking up speed. The human scientists were falling further and further behind.
Bunny spotted a door opening and made a beeline for it. He zipped past a woman entering the building and out across the front, swooping around the building through the parking lot and right into the nearby woods behind the building. He was filled with an adrenaline rush as he ran, feeling alive and free like never before.
..Meanwhile...
One of the scientists rushed into the CEO's office. "Sir, we have a problem," she said, out of breath. "The rabbit we tested with Hyperzyme escaped from its enclosure."
The CEO looked up from his paperwork, his expression darkening. "What do you mean it escaped?" he demanded. "Why wasn't it properly secured?"
The scientist shifted uncomfortably. "We thought we had cleaned it properly, sir, but it seems a small patch of the cream remained on its skin. It must have caused a reaction the rabbit fitted and it broke free."
The CEO's eyes narrowed. "Find that rabbit and return it to its enclosure, at all costs. We cannot let it escape into the wild and risk exposure to the public."
The scientist nodded, "Yes, sir. We have teams searching the woods and surrounding areas. We'll do everything in our power to retrieve it.
...Back in the woods...
Bunny hopped along for what felt like an eternity, his body aching from the cream that still clung to his fur. He followed a babbling stream, the sound of it soothing to his ears. Eventually, he stumbled upon an old tree with a hollowed out space under its roots. He crawled inside and began to clean himself, inadvertently ingesting some of the cream in the process. As exhaustion overtook him, Bunny fell into a fitful sleep, his dreams filled with images of the life he had left behind.
