Description
It was a bad time to run out of ammo. He managed to finish off most of that abomination infantry patrol with just a pistol and the last of his grenades, but the chassis gunner was proving to be less than cooperative.

He hit the dirt just as the gunner unleashed a volley in his direction. If the gunner had been using an airbust launcher, he'd have already been blown to bits by now, but the standard chassis-mounted machinegun was no joke either, capable of turning cover into concealment. Chunks of concrete and cement peppered his skin and dust clouds kicked up with each burst from the weapon.

After what seemed like an eternity, the firing stopped - the gunner's weapon was either empty or jammed. Seizing the initiative, he jumped to his feet and sprinted forth, knife in hand.

He could see the gunner wrestling with the feed chute and charging handle on its weapon. Upon noticing his charge, it hissed at him, then pulled the quick release on its gear, jettisoning its weapon and harness. Drawing its own knife, the abomination began advancing on him. Lucky for him, it wasn't carrying a pistol, but the brute strength and high pain tolerance of the abominations weren't something he could easily ignore.

"You ugly son of a bitch."
