The automated message came in over the intercom once again. "Warning: core temperatures critical. Initiate cooling rod replacement procedures immediately."
The red emergency lights flickered as Nihilist-7 made his way through the corridors. Tables, desks, and chairs were all thrown together to form makeshift barricades. The plant's security guards made their last stand here so that they could buy the engineers time to initiate a safe shutdown of the reactor prior to evacuating. However, it seemed that they ran out of luck. Bloodstains, empty magazines, and spent shell casings littered the ground, though the defenders' bodies were nowhere to be seen.
There was no telling whether he would make it to the control room in time. The signals on his motion tracker were growing stronger. He braced himself, with his LR300 poised as he hacked the access panel to the maintenance wing.
