Hey Howdy Hey!

Even more short story...GO!

The further he walks on...the tenser he becomes.

It's been several hours since the Mysterious creature left the comfort of his base behind, and ever since the strange noises have gotten closer, he wishes he never left.

"No, I can't say that!" the Creature though to himself. "If I don't find that meteor, it'll be lost to the shifting sands. No meteor, no parts. No parts, no ship." But as the sounds grew closer, the Mysterious Creature's stomach lurches, and the thought occurs to him that he won't be able to get home anyway if he dies.

His steps become for fervent, and his grip tightens on the broken metal rod he picked up earlier. Scuttling noises inch closer and closer until they appear directly by his ear. He jumps at a brush of his cloak, and makes a break for it. Aimlessly, he runs until he exhausts himself. He pauses to catch his breath, his tense muscles aching painfully.

He looks up to try and identify his surroundings. He's lost, but at least the noises have stopped. Whatever was chasing him must've given up. As he continues to survey his surroundings, he notices something a few paces in front of him. A highway road?

Curious, he follows it. The sand gently blowing away to reveal more and more of the same concrete roadway. When he looks up again, he sees a barrage of color sitting in a pile a couple of yards from where he stood. He walks towards it; his curiosity growing the closer he approaches.

In front of him was a tent composed of a pile of assorted blankets, and held up by nothing but a few thin rods for foundation. For the longest time, he had seen nothing but sand, rock and scrap. A pile of colorful blankets, although in need of a serious wash, were a rare treasure.

Suddenly, the scuttling noise returns. The Mysterious Creature tightens his grip on the rod, and takes a few steps back. The tent wasn't abandoned. And he was ready for anything.

The moonlight closes in on the entrance of the colorful cave, and a disfigured hand approaches him from out of the darkness. The smell of rot overpowers the Creatures senses, but he refuses to back away from this potential threat. A ball of knotted hair, legs, and then arms crawls its way out of the tent, and slowly rises on it's hind legs. It looks up-- sticking it's disgusting face into the moonlight. It's eyes were glazed blue, and carried the same horrified expression as the Mysterious Creature.

"MnaMLem?" the hideous thing asked.

The Mysterious Creature's grip loosened a little; this thing was not a threat. It was a human.
