They actually got the thumb detail backwards when they made the movie.

A history professor I had a few years told us it was backwards, but it was done that way on purpose because culturally it makes more sense to us.
While historically inaccurate - it still gets the meaning across.

Well I read up on the real Commodus awhile back and apparently he was left handed and very proud of that fact so maybe thats what your professor meant. Or did he mean they all used their lefts?

Oh well when you put it like that it does make sense. I would have assumed giving a "thumbs up" meant yes go ahead and kill them, not the other way around.
You mean like my icon? I just found it here on DA somewhere. You gotta find one thats 50 x 50 pixels, that or you can make your own animated avatar but it has to be 50 x 50 pixels.
