That is a whole lot of dedication and attention to detail! Fantastic piece. I really like the smooth transitions between each cube's colour. Very well done!

As a fellow enthusiast of modular origami, congrats. This takes patience and dedication. I have to hop back onto the bandwagon and get back to making a torus using PHiZZ units.

I've seen pictures around elsewhere of someone having made a genus 2 torus; THAT was amazing.

Just looked it up, and yea it's totally nuts! Is there a pattern for just the single torus? I don't seem to be finding one.

There's numerous different ones.
One uses 105 units and has octagons for the inner part of the ring.

That's the one I must resume doing.
Here's another stop:

And then there's the 555-unit one.

This will also be of help.
Try searching for "origami torus fundamental domain" and see if that gets you anywhere.

wow. a very simple idea, just a few laced cubes put togeter in a ring, but the idea and the finished product is amazing!. that is something i would never think of. i always loved how the simplist of ideas can turn into something amazing
