Description
This piece, I feel, is almost a throw back to my comic cover days. (its not, but you can see the comic-ish side of it)If you have noticed, my recent work has incorporated a lot of clean, straight colored lines (such as this piece)
Well, I discovered Scotch Blue Painters Tape, the one with orange font.
It has changed the way I paint!!! (ha, this totally sounds like an ad)
I also came up with a way to get even cleaner lines with the tape....and I'll share it with you guys.
Get painters tape, get gel matte medium.
Tape off your area, run you finger along all the edges making sure there are no gaps.
Apply a medium coat of matte medium where the tape meets the canvas/paper/wall.
Let it sit for about 30 seconds and apply paint.
Make sure to apply paint before the matte medium totally dries.
Boom, straight ass lines
That's how I did all those long gradient colorful lines. Super clean, super easy.
This piece is be on display at the Beyond Eden art fair in L.A. showing with Spoke Art Gallery
Vessel: 01 / Coloered Pencil (prismacolor) / Acrylic / Wax Patel / Oil / on Rives bfk mounted to birch box panel / 24"x30" / 2013

This is spectacular. I love the lines and shapes so much. And the face adds something organic to an otherwise abstract vision. It's a really nice mix and adds life to the piece.

I first thought that it's a digital painting because of those straight lines
I really like it. The amount of different colours could make this picture clash but you've balanced them well and made them work together. Girl's facial expression is also spot on, drawing the viewer to her. Nice.
