Alolan Paras

It is said that Paras came to the Alola region with humans, however the mushrooms on it's back needed somewhere far more dark than the surface of the Alolan landscape, and so it went deep into the caves of Alola. There, where it was black as night all the time, the Paras had no way of knowing where they were going, so the mushrooms adapted to give off light so their hosts would survive. Alolan Paras are quite curious while their mushrooms haven't taken full root, using their light to guide any lost cave explorers back to the entrance.

As an Alolan Paras matures and evolves, the mushrooms on it's back begin to give off a special spore that Parasect then waves around itself, anything that inhales this spore will then become confused, giving Parasect a chance to escape any predators that may be hunting it. The light emitted from the mushroom on it's back often lures other pokemon to it, so the one with the largest mushroom is often used as bait either at the edge of the cave opening or further in the cave to lead unsuspecting pokemon around in circles in the cave until they perish, they are then used to grow the mushrooms even more...

I personally really like the way these guys came out, and while I know they don't really look that different from regular Paras and Parasect, I'm hoping the background I put in the description might help to understand why that is. Any questions? Feel free to ask me in the comments.
