Hmm,I don't see nothing wrong with it. A bg is supposed to have a simple layout and a slight level of detail to enphatize the kids attention to the characters.

You sure have a touch with inventing new regions within the endless cosmic voids! Hmm...seems that Mario Galaxy isn't the only contemporary venue with small, cartoony globes and planets with detailed landscape...
Is it just the matter of your style or are the background planets wiggling in all directions? Darn... you should be involved in animation soon... unless you have already planned to. We need more cutting edge animated entertainment!
