Yes, it's very simple and wasn't hard or complex to make, BUT simplicity is beautiful. It's easier to live when you see beauty in simple things.

There's many deviations a lot more complex than this that have gotten on the front page, but don't deserve it half as much as this does.
This looks great, the colors are perfect the red-ish heart makes the whole "color palette" shine. People who can't see any further than "it's a phrase on a piece of paper" are just shallow.

Your comment on people thinking this photo isn't complex made me think. I mean, really, it's not just about the amount of complexity put into a piece. If it was, then every fool with too much time and lots of props would make the front page, every time.
I don't think it's about technical brilliance. Just the beauty of the work, the originality or popularity of the idea, and the power of the message it lends.
