Description as the dreary days pass
time has grown older
and you have grown colder
beneath my grey heart
nothing dares to matter

lying in your rusted chains
it makes no difference
if my hands are frozen ice
there is not you to ease the numbness
nothing dares to matter

watching through an opaque glass
my eyes burn in apathy
drowned beneath those vacant words
it doesn't feel, it feels like you
nothing dares to matter

the reason is locked up
the casket has been long since shut
clouds don't even exist
in my empty gateway to you
nothing dares to matter

The repetition is great, and I love the opening stanza. You really write from the heart. Which is where is should always come from. Too many poets think too much about their work, and so lose the reason they wrote it the begin with. This is truly a wonderful poem. Another favourite of mine.
