I'm doing a lot of these lately to practice painting techniques...this one was referenced from [link]by *rammkitty-stock (she's got a lot of good costume photos too)
I was going for a sort of 60s vibe...the picture itself isn't that odd, but what I took from it turned into something vaguely unsettling, somehow

Part of it was a veil and part of it was a background. I made them the same color to add a level of abstraction and flatten the picture plane

Snaaap thats good. I am jealous of your ability to make realism actually look real. Mine always comes out surreal ]: even when I try really hard.

Ah, realism is not as hard as people think. Actually surrealism has very strong roots in realism, so you're on the right track
